Question: I thought I had an overgrowth of fungal yeast in my body but not eating any sugar including fruits, carbs or starches for months seems a little unhealthy especially if you have a hectic work schedule like I do. Some people say the Candida diet is bogus but there are lot of websites promoting it. What's your take?

i just read this story about candida. It' s an unbiased review and helped me understand. I say just cut out sugar and eat lots of vegetables, lean protein, gluten free things. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article...

Drinking alcohol is not good on any diet. It completely negates the reasoning for a diet. If you are passionate about this diet then you need to commit to it fully. Give up everything you need to give up, including the alcohol.

Candida diet works as long as you stick to it and also what helps if you try and rebuild you immune system so both the diet and your immune system to fight the yeast fungus. Major problem with diet is that you will lose to much weight and i believe you can have some fruits like pawpaw

The one thing you want to avoid on a candida diet is refined foods, sugar, sweet fruits and simple carbs. And avoid things that have a lot of acid in them . No apples, no pears, no oranges, no melons or grapes, but grapefruit is ok. Eat lots of broccoli and green leafy veggies to bring your ph-level down. Steamed soy beans (edamame) are excellent, but not sugary soy milk. You can find unsweeted soymilk and add a quality all-natural sugar substitute to that (like Stevia or Xylitol). Definitely avoid alcohol. It will wreck your ph-balance. After the diet is over, you can go toward having a glass of red wine a week and then after two weeks, a glass of red wine every other day. This amount of alcohol is actually health-promoting. Oh, and avoid artificial sweeteners in general. They cause cancer. Most even say so on the box!
