The Master Cleanse Diet?

The Master Cleanse Diet? Topic: The Master Cleanse Diet?

Question: Would the Master Cleanse be considered a diet? Or just a detox or cleanse? I have to do a paper on a diet and was wondering if this would be an appropriate topic. Thanks in advance! All I want to know is if it is considered a diet or not.

You are really just looking at a painful and drawn out way to empty your entire digestive tract. The lemon detox/master cleanse diet you are referring to is a calorie deficit program. You will lose weight on this diet. The average adult American has eight meals in their digestive system. Five more than they should. By going on a deficit diet like this you can lose up to 10 pounds just by not eating. But it is only the weight of the food in your digestive system. At your current weight it will only be 2 or 3 pounds. So it does work. but it does not change your size. Pour the soda out of a bottle and the shape of the bottle doesn't change does it? Once you start eating again you just replace all the missing food in the system. The signal these starvation diets send the body is that there is no more food available. The body immediately stores any fat it can and begins to convert muscle and even organ tissue first for fuel instead of the stored fat. Stored fat will be used as a last resort when needed. The complete opposite of what you are trying to accomplish. There is no build up of bad plaque, toxins, or sludge in a normal, reasonably healthy system. If this was the case we would have people dying left and right from malnutrition since their small intestines couldn't absorb nutrients. The majority of the water from food and what we drink is reabsorbed through the colon, if our colons were clogged we would all be walking around looking like sponges right? Detoxing is ridding the system - liver, kidneys, and intestines of toxins both internal and environmental. Our liver and kidneys aren't clogged with toxins. Otherwise we would be dead. The liver does in fact get layered with fat if we become overweight. We "cleanse and detox" naturally 24 hours a day through respiration, sweat, liver, and kidneys. We can help by eating a healthy diet with minimal added sugar and salt. Lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grain foods, beans, peas, and brown rice keep a system as healthy as it can be. Minimal alcohol, caffeine, soda. Read food labels. If you can't pronounce it, don't put it in your body. A healthy high fiber diet works every time. Increases the speed and efficiency of the digestive system and helps the body rid itself of both internal and environmental toxins. Cleanses actually flush out the beneficial bacteria and enzymes in the digestive system. Search "gut flora" to learn about the beneficial bacteria we need in our colon. We have more beneficial bacteria in our digestive systems than all the cells in our bodies! Did you know the digestive system is one of the largest contributors to our immune system? They don't tell you about the gas, cramping, and bloating you will experience when you start eating again and the body has to rebuild this bacteria population. Spend your money in the produce department. Good luck.

Please totally disregard the above answer, this person obviously has no experience. I would not suggest you write a paper on the master cleanse as a diet it is simply a 10 day cleansing protocol that is not a scam although it has its complexities. I would suggest you do a paper on what i would call a cleansing diet which is a real thing. In today's day we are exposed to lots of chemicals and everyone needs to do a cleansing diet a couple of times a year. you can get more info on www.detoxingdietinfo.com/home

I did the grasp cleanse nevertheless it simply tousled my insides wherein it growled always from each aspect of my bowels. Very embarrasing, so both my plumbing is quite unhealthy, or my frame is telling me that that nutrition is nonsense. I am on a exercise/normal meals, tradition difference now and I have misplaced 15 lbs in 6 weeks. I desire to preserve this as a aspect of my existence and drop all the way down to a minimum of a dimension 12. I most effective have 20 extra kilos to move and I am very athletic, so it is a well healthful dimension for me. Sometimes too thin isn't well both. I was once a dimension 7 (quite tiny for an athlete) 15 years in the past and I was once in poor health always.

Any "cleansing" diet is 100% pure scam....if you have "toxins" in your body, you need drugs or surgery, not a diet!.... "Cleansing" is an industry designed to sell books, potions and bull-hockey... If you DO "do a paper" on the Master Cleanse Diet, you should highlight the supposed benefits, and then prove what utter, utter, utter nonsense they all are! http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/detox-diets-purging-myths

The master cleanse diet is based on faulty assumptions and pseudoscience. There's nothing really miraculous about it. In fact, you might as well get a colonic irrigation as it is about the same thing. Don't want to disappoint you, but that really is the way it is. Instead, watch your calories and what you are eating, and do the exercise. If you keep your caloric intake to between 1300-1500 calories per day, plus do 30+ minutes of a good cardio exercise, you can lose 1-2 pounds per week - which is a very healthy rate to lose weight. I know it is probably not as fast as you would like to lose it, but maintaining health is the main thing. Eat a diet heavy on the fruits and vegetables. Avoid refined sugars and grains as they convert to fat tissue much quicker. And do that 30+ minutes of cardio per day. If you have to break it up to 3 or 4 sessions to start, that's okay. As your body gets used to it, you will be able to go longer until you can do it all at one time - which is where you want to be. Then, the exercise will kick up your metabolism for several hours afterwards, meaning more food will be converted to energy rather than to fatty tissue - which means you'll lose weight, have more energy, and feel and look better. Good luck
