Bowling alley, museum, planetarium, IHOP, library, movie rental place, video game rental place, pet store, arcade, Chuck E. Cheese (hey, there's always skee-ball, fun for all ages), indoor swimming pool, city recreation center, if you are girls you could go get your nails done, hair done, etc.

All of those and much more - I've just emptied my canal boat for the Winter after stocking up for a month on the River Thames which didn't happen. Imagine how much dry, tinned and packet food a couple of people get through in a month without much opportunity to shop, and you can picture the boxes of stuff we have here.

Yes! and I am another sad creature. There is always plenty of most types of food in my house, I can possibly live for several months without re-stocking, if I wanted to. However this is because I live a great distance from the grocery and food shops. Also I detest having to go shopping for food, and during the winter months I can often be snowed in for days or weeks, unable to go out.

Clean your kitchen and make sure the fruit in your fruit bowl is fresh and not getting old (it attracts them).
