Question: does anyone ever watch all those commercials about how to lose weight and wonder, how about skinny ppl? are there places where ppl can help us to GAIN weight? i was just wondering if i was the only one that thought about this k, here's the thing, if i eat a hundred mcdonalds, i do not get fat and i can eat all the junk food i want and the only thing i'll gain are cavities so...

I guess it's because there are more fat people than skinny. Did you know there are only two kinds of weight anyone can gain? It's either muscle or fat. I don't recommend fat for obvious reasons. So if I was skinny, and I used to be, I would join a gym and start lifting weights and build some muscle.

Well i'm 5"3 and weigh like 90lbs at most. It sucks being small-framed with a high metabolism and very skinny...but there are a lot of us out there. Naturally skinny people, not people who starve themselves. I do not and will never understand why people will starve themselves to reach skinniness such as what i posess as it doesn't look normal...even though for us it actually is, as we cannot HELP it. Don't gorge on junk food as this won't make you gain weight, but it might clog your arteries. Instead each protien & carb-rich meals because these have natural fats in them. Eat good sourced foods like lentils, avocadoes, potatoes, rice, pasta, fish, meat, dairy products ect. Of course it's okay to have chocolate and stuff but don't eat this all the time as too much of one thing is never good. Just balance out your meals, make sure you eat 3 meals a day along with snacks and do some exercise...perhaps less cardio as you don't want to lose weight, and more muscle toning and building exercises like squats and lunges etc. Most of all, just be happy! I know it's hard dealing with being the 'skinny one' out of all your friends, and sometimes it's even unbearable being called names like 'anorexic twig' and stuff, but suck it up and remember there's always someone, somewhere who is worse off than you. gl

First of all, remember that lots of us would love to be in your situation :) Sorry. Okay. How old are you? If you're old enough, using light weights and doing resistance training under the guidance of a pro (like a trainer at the gym) can help you build lean muscle. It won't make you huge like the hulk or anything, but it will help add mass. Further to that, if you're still under 18 your body is still developing and you might not have your curves yet. Don't restrict your diet, obviously, but don't eat unhealthily in hopes of gaining weight either. Lots of people who feel too skinny will try eating loads of McDonalds and bad food to gain weight, but it will just make you sick. A person can be skinny and still have bad cholesterol, etc. Don't be afraid of protein and polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, especially the lean healthy kind found in chicken, turkey, salmon, almonds, peanuts, etc. :) Make sure every meal has some protein to it. At any rate, you've just got a fast metabolism, which is fine. If you're really concerned, a doctor can rule out thyroid problems with a simple blood test. But I highly doubt that's the issue.
