Hi. I'm 17 and haven't pooped in 5 days. I can not eat more than once a day because I'm so bloated and full all the time and get bad stomach pain when I eat. I've been taking miralax and my doctor told me to take it twice daily but I couldn't take not pooping anymore so I took vitality vitamins with magnesium in them, vitamin c, 5 pills of fiber therapy with a bottle of water because that's exactly what the instructions say & I took one colon cleanser pill. I'm going to try and relax today and all I ate was a few bites of a salad, two bread sticks and a banana with some sunflower seeds so I should be set all day. I've been on miralax five days and no need to poop yet whatsoever so I was hoping taking all these wasn't a horrible decision or unhealthy? This is my first time doing so, I just really want to go.. any advice?

Don't feel embarassed, dear. Iron is good for you, but one of the downers is constipation. You can try stool softeners like Colace or supplements like FiberCon Benefiber. One you can definitely rely on is warm prune juice. It acts as a stimulant and I highly recommend taking some reading materials and a can of air freshner. Yes, that's a bad decision. It's quite likely that you will go from being all stopped up to not being able to stop.
If you're constipated, the very first thing you do is try to drink a lot of water. Not tea or coffee or soda, WATER. You might just be dehydrated. You can have one or two cups of hot coffee or hot tea, but no more than that. Then you should walk or run for at least 15 minutes. While the intestines do have their own movement, they also rely on abdominal muscle movement to help get things through. If that doesn't work, then you try a stool softener and possibly a small dose of fiber therapy.
It's possible that you've developed irritable bowel disease, inflammatory bowel syndrome, or Crohn's disease. You'd have to go through some medical procedures before a doctor could say, though. These problems are NOT something you can diagnose by yourself. You could also have some sort of intestinal blockage, and again, you'd have to see a doctor about this.

Hello Sweetie, If r possess mum and dad dont believe U, go to the shop get prune juice/prunes & cost it to their Visa/something account! U can not keep constipated as i know the discomfort r goin threw. Mom acquired any dates for baking, eat em all! That'll do the trick too. Subsequent: exhibit em how bloated r tummy is??? Lol keep off the dairy Plse. LOL, Diana D PS Ransack the cabinets for Pure Bran/Fibre & take 2 tablespoons in a sizzling cereal, u'll go inside an hour or 2

A good product over the counter is Mralax, You stir a measured amount into a glass of water and keep drinking water until you go. This product is safe to take daily, and it sometimes takes 2 days to move your bowels. You definitely should pay attention to the person who wrote before me about changing your diet so this doesn't happen again. It is bad to depend on laxatives.

You probably need to improve your diet as you seem to have a constipation problem.
For constipation, castor oil is very good for a one-off remedy as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22c... but it is unsuitable for regular use.
For constipation, suppositories, laxatives and enemas are all totally unnecessary if you eat the right foods.
All fruit and vegetables in very large amounts are laxative.
You need to permanently change your diet or you are likely to get colon cancer.
Constipation can make you extremely unwell and can lead to colon cancer as it causes a build up of carcinogenic toxins in the system.
The intake of foods such as milk, cheese, white rice, white flour and red meat should be restricted, because they tend to contribute to constipation.
Any food that has had the fiber stripped out, the nutrients processed out or slows down the digestion is a constipation culprit. Here's a list of foods shown to cause constipation problems:
•Meats, especially fatty meats, red meat and processed meats,
•Dairy Products, such as cheese, ice cream and whole milk,
•Fast Foods – burgers, French fries and other fried foods, pizza, etc.,
•Refined grains, like white rice or any refined white flour products,
•Highly starchy foods – white potatoes, corn and all refined grains,
•Pastries and other high sugar products, such as cakes, cookies and pies,
•Deep-fried foods, chips and other foods that are high in bad fats.
