Question: I am 13 year old girl, White. I weigh 70 lbs so quite thin though quite a bit of muscle. I am about 5 feet, maybe 4'11. Is this normal?? Also would I look weird with a guy who is 5' 8? ... What's the average height/weight for a white, 13 year old girl? Thanks. SORRY! TYPO! 79 lbs. and really I do try and gain weight. My metabolism won't let me. And I am sorry that would be racism not prejudice jeeeeeeeeeez. And if you havent noticed hispanics are shorter apparently and so are asians so suck my tit.

There is a chart for a healthy height-to-weight ratio. Also, ethnicity doesn't really matter so much as bone structure and gender. Bone structures determine your frame, which would be large, medium, or small. The height-to-weight ratio is also different for men and women due to the fact that our bodies have different nutritional and dietary requirements. There are certain bone structures that can be classified by racial characteristics. That doesn't make you racist or prejudiced; it's scientific fact, one that is used by anthropologists and forensics experts. Despite that, though, you don't need to mention you're white when it comes to weight or height. At 4'11" to 5'0", you should be anywhere between 103 to 123 pounds, which means you are severely underweight by twenty pounds or more. I recommend you alter your diet for healthy weight gain, which should include lots of complete proteins, complex carbohydrates, and fiber. Talk to a doctor or nutritionist to help determine a safe and healthy diet plan. A fast metabolism will be a good thing later in life; you'll appreciate it down the road when it's harder to lose weight. ;) As for looking weird with a guy who is 5'8", he's going to be a head or more taller, so it really depends. You're likely going to have to step on your tip-toes with him. Fortunately, it is more socially acceptable to be a short girl with a tall boyfriend than a short boy with a tall girlfriend. You'll be fine. Date someone for love, not height. Here's the website for the chart I used: http://www.healthchecksystems.com/heightweightchart.htm

Well, yoga helps, because your using all of your muscles and its thus said to make you grow. Ive also heard cycling is a big help! You didnt say your sex, and if your agirl then im afraid you probably wont grow much more. Im gathering you are a guy though because 5'8 is quite tall for a girl. Im afraid though that there is no set way to grow taller, especially if your from quite ashort family! Sleep and a good diet helps though! Good Luck

Not really. however, if you don't grow too much and put on too much weight, you'll be eating a lot of dinners alone later in your life. You don't look weird to a guy who is 5-8, yet. What looks weird to a guy who is 5-8 is a girl who is 5 foot tall and weighs over 120 pounds.

You're really thin. It wouldn't hurt if you gain ten pounds or so. I think the ideal height difference between a girl and a guy is about 4-5 inches, but then again, if there's something you really like about the guy, 8-9 inches different wouldn't hurt. He would probably look like your older brother, but well, it's fine anyway.

There really is no normal and abnormal because your still growing. . .Your only abnormal if you have some kind of disease or eating disorder which my stunt your growth or whatever, so don't worry about it.

130 is better. A good diet/exercise plan would be: Breakfast: Cook 9-grain cereal (from health food store) in water with rolled oats and wheat bran. Make a big pot of it on weekends and nuke 1/2 cup each morning. Add low fat milk or yogurt, banana, walnuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine. Breakfast should be your largest meal of the day to raise blood sugar level which falls during the night. Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey ½ sandwich on whole grain bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts and yogurt w/fruit. If you had meat loaf for dinner, bring a meat loaf sandwich on whole grain bread (NO mayo). On cold days, a squatty thermos of hot chili, split peas with ham, or beef stew. Snacks: Fresh (not canned) fruit: banana, orange, apple, kiwi, grapes, peach, nectarine, cherries, pineapple. No chips and nothing ever from a vending machine. Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, 2 kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, green or red peppers, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese...Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it. Or homemade bean/vegetable soups; great way to recycle leftovers. Or grilled fish with steamed veggies. Or omelet: In blender, whip together eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, onions, garlic powder. Cook with mushrooms, chopped tomatoes and green or red peppers. Foods to avoid: junk food, fast foods, pastries, desserts, sugar, salty foods, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fat/grease (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza, chips, fries), pasta, potatoes, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream, soda, chips. And of course no tobacco or alcohol in any form. Both of those add wrinkles and destroy your brain. No oil except olive and mac nut. Coffee also rots your brain. To keep your skin clear, drink water. Veg. juice is good too. But not canned juice (too much sugar.) Join a gym; they have all the equipment and staff to show you how to use it to get the look you want to achieve. Much cheaper than buying your own equipment. Go hiking, biking, jogging, bowling, swimming, rowing, jump rope, play tennis, badminton, volleyball, soccer..sit ups, push ups, pull ups, leg lifts, crunches, jumping jacks, lift weights... If you lack energy to exercise, take Super B complex. To lose weight, try an appetite suppressant.
