Question: I get really hungry by lunchtime so i need more than cereal for breakfast to keep me from snacking and I don't wanna eat pancakes/waffles/sausages... everyday. I'm 16 and I'm trying to lose weight. so is it bad if I eat this salad sandwich every morning? 2 slices brown bread with olive oil chicken/ham salad (1/2 tsp mayo & honey mustard dressing) 1 slice of low-fat cheese do you think it's too heavy to eat for breakfast? which do u think is healthier, this sandwich or a bowl of corn flakes/cheerios? err i know salad is good for health...i just mean for breakfast...i've never seen anyone my age taking salad for breakfast..... oh and it's sandwiched between 2 slices of bread! Right, i know it's in the vegan vegetarian section....i dunno why. i kept pressing the diet and fitness button but it wouldn't click. whatevs.

That's a pretty damn awesome breakfast. Forget corn flakes and cheerios, they are just processed foods. Cereal manufacturers have amazing marketing techniques, and have made the majority of us think that cereal (and therefore, their products) is the only way to start the day. Protein such as cheese and chicken are great starters. And nothing wrong with a bit of salad! And obviously brown bread is much healthier than white (though you should limit bread consumption). You can also try a big bowl of porridge for brekkie as well. Oats are wonderful things. I add other yummy things like nuts, prunes, cranberries, goji berries, honey. Really yum and comforting during cold mornings, plus healthy. If you feel a little peckish after breakfast, have a piece of fruit. Pink Lady apples ftw! *So protein is probably the number one for breakfast: (eggs!, nuts, cheese, chicken) *Less sugar is better, i.e. no Cheerios. Sugar will maybe fill you up for that moment, but it will then just make you hungry shortly later. you can sweeten plain cereal with a bit of honey and add dried fruit like what I mentioned above (though be warned, dried fruit is quite sugary itself - I just like to indulge). *Dairy - milk/cheese Anyway I just found an article which may help... http://nutritiondiva.quickanddirtytips.com/how-to-eat-less-without-feeling-hungry.aspx

You need a good high carbs meal about 2 hours before exercising. Either it’s a good breakfast (for mid-morning exercising) or a good lunch (for mid-afternoon exercising) but not a good dinner as you don’t want to exercise too late in the day. How can you even entertain the possibility of exercising in the afternoon if you don’t have a proper lunch? And if you want to eat healthier, learn to cook. “Using carrots”, I’m also using carrots, like in my Corned Beef and Cabbage recipe that I’ll cook today for St. Patrick’s Day, or with my Beef Burgundy or my lentils soup. Applesauce? Once you start making your own and not using processed food, you’ll be on your way to eating healthier.

Breakfast like a King. Lunch like a Lord. Dine like a Pauper. This means it's better to take in calories at the beginning of the day than the end so you have a chance to burn them. The best way to find a healthy breakfast that will keep away hunger until lunch time and control your weight is to follow GI (glycaemic index) principles - there's a lot of stuff about this out there.

This obviously isn't a vegan or vegetarian related question..I've eaten dry cereal, spinach, & water mixed into one bowl. No one cares what you eat. There's no real rules as to when to eat something..

protein, fibre and carbohydrate is important to keep full. i would suggest buying wholegrain/wholewheat bread with lots of seeds and whole wheat pasta as a basis for each meals. brown rice and oatmeal is also good if you want variety. as for protein, you can buy eggs which are pretty cheap. cheese and yoghurt (low fat kinds) are also cheap and high in protein. drink a lot of water and fruit and veggies too! good luck with moving out.

You're not going to get cancer from it (probably), but it's not healthy to eat the same thing daily. Your digestive tract won't like it. Also, you need fruits and veggies and better protein if you can get it. You could get heart problems from it due to the fact it's basically just fat, but you would have to be eating a lot of it constantly. Processed food isn't great for you, but if that's all you can eat, you need to eat it.
