Exercise/ weight loss tips?

Exercise/ weight loss tips? Topic: Exercise/ weight loss tips?

Question: I'm in a wedding in about a year an a half so I decided I want to start losing weight now. I was wondering if anyone had good tips or websites to help me along. I have a few complications - I have a severe case of scoliosis and I'm on the mend from a leg injury (I can't do stairs quite yet which would be a healthier alternative to elevators). So while I'm mending are there any small things that I can do?

Good for you looking ahead and not asking this question about a month and a half before the wedding. Diet is 80% of weight loss. And I don't mean "a diet". I mean what you eat everyday. A good healthy diet high in fiber, lean meats, eggs, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, antioxidant foods, healthy beverages and low in added sugar and salt help people lose weight, gain weight, lower cholesterol, increase energy, improve brain function, lower blood pressure, reduce cancer risk and have a more positive lifestyle! You need to eat a lot more food and a lot more fiber! Diets that exclude foods from any food group are fad diets and do not lead to permanent weight loss or solve any other health issues. First, try to kick your fiber intake to 40 grams of both soluble and insoluble fiber. Whatever you do, get your fiber from your food, not from a jar. Fruits and vegetables have good fiber in them. Try a breakfast cereal with at least 20% of recommended daily allowance of fiber in it. They are usually low in sugar so there is a double benefit. Blueberries or raspberries on top add more fiber and antioxidants. But fresh or frozen, not the kind in syrup. Raw nuts are a great source of fiber, healthy fats, and antioxidants. Avocados are the best. Lots of beans, peas, and grains are high fiber. Whole grain breads. Fiber kicks up the metabolism so you actually burn more calories. These foods will give you more gas in the beginning but if eaten daily, the bacteria in the digestive tract will elevate lowering the gas output. This will get you on the path for a healthy daily bowel movement. This helps clean the system and aids healthy digestion. I know it goes against everything you've heard but eating lots of the right foods will actually help you lose weight! Next, take a basic daily multivitamin. Don't look at your multivitamin as nutrition but more as an insurance policy. Think of it as filling in the gaps in your daily diet as opposed to a primary source of nutrients. If you are a woman, you may want a plus iron formula. Last, you HAVE to drink lots of water to be healthy. But you can disguise it. Fill your glass all the way full with ice before pouring low sugar beverages. Try iced green tea with a splash of orange juice in it for sweet. More antioxidants. Add lemon juice to water for flavor. Slice up a cucumber and float it in pitcher of water. Gives it salty fresh taste. But you must drink up to 100 oz of water daily to help your body get rid of waste and the toxins it contains. You must combine a healthy diet with exercise to multiply the benefit. Whether an hour a day in the weight room or just a 30 minute brisk walk every day, the multiplier effects of regular exercise really do increase and accelerate healthy weight loss. You will get motivated when the changes start happening, I promise. Good luck.

try special k, it really keeps you full and isn't fattening for breakfast with a banana or something before you eat anything in the morning do exercise so fat stored in your body is being burned Make sure after an exercise session your muscles hurt, if they dont your not working out properly. If you want to gain muscle make sure you have protein to help the muscles build up quicker and better. Cut out all fats have nuts and fruit for snacks when your hungry For lunch have a chicken salad sandwich (just make sure you have meat for the protein but no red meats because they are high in fat, red meats are bacon, pork and beef) celery as a snack is good because you loose weight when you eat it. this is because it barely has any calories and you burn them chewing it. if you have toast dont put butter on it, its full of fat. if your in the uk and a teen join target fitness (just google it and find your local one) its £30 to join and £3 every time you go which is quite cheap hope this helps

Walking slowly(because of the injury) would be adequate. However, it would be most useful to walk in a park.

Here are some of the most effective weight loss tips to help you get (or stay) on track to a healthier, better-looking body: 1. Drink ice water. The simplest of the weight loss tips, it helps body burns up to 40 calories just by turning up its metabolism in order to warm the water. 2. Have an early dinner so that you have an hour or two to take a short walk after dinner. In between meals, when you feel like eating something, reach out for a glass of water that will make you feel fuller soon. 3. One of the effective weight loss tips is while cooking, lower the heat so that you can use less oil. Cut down on the use of hot, spicy foods. In fact, it would be much wiser to eliminate them from your diet.

Well firstly, you need to be eating a healthy balanced, low fat diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. Eat lean meats (no fat on), poultry (no skin on), fish with scales on (not in batter or breadcrumbs), eggs, fresh fruit, vegetables, beans & pulses, low fat dairy products, skimmed milk, sugar free beverages, tea, coffee, and non sugary cereals. Try to include as many wholefoods as possible into your diet. Such as brown rice, brown pasta, beans & pulses, and brown bread. These are all high in fiber and will keep you feeling fuller for longer. DO make sure you keep all JUNK FOODS, ready made processed meals, (the ones you buy in the supermarket), alcohol, sugary fizzy drinks, and takeaway meals to an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM. These are all high in refined sugar and full of saturated fat. The two main ingredients which are responsible for those extra pounds. Remember JUNK FOOD is just what it says - JUNK. With one added ingredient in - FAT. Have three regular meals a day. At regular times. Always starting with breakfast. This way you are less likely to indulge in snacks later on during the morning. Sit down to eat your meals. Take time over them. Paying particular attention to what you are eating. Stay concious of your new eating habits and activity levels. Because if you don't then you won't suceed. You need to be determined, be comitted and last of all stay consistent. Secondly, try to MOVE as as much as you can. Any exercise will really help to accelerate your weight loss. Walking, swimming, try a dance class, riding a bike, (this can also be a stationery bike). I am not too sure how bad your injury is to your knee. But using a trampoline also is a great exercise too. Any exercise where it manages to get your heart rate up. Making your blood pump faster around your heart, you are breathing harder, and sweating. This way you will be burning calories. But like with any exercise. Unless you are combining it with healthy eating. Then it will work. But if you don't then you won't see any results. Exercise is beneficial regardless of your diet. However, 80% of your physique is a result of what you eat. 20% is exercise. So exercise and healthy eating work perfectly together. Remember if once you have managed to reach your target weight. You CAN'T go back to your old eating habits and activity levels. Otherwise you WILL put all the weight back on again. It is as simple as that. Good Luck
