Question: just 8-10 glasses of liquides such as gatorade, juice?? i am having a hard time with drinking that much water i can drink about 6 glasses and then i feel like i can't drink anymore water. im 6 weeks along okay so if I drink about 6 glasses a day will that be okay?? I know water is healthier I just seem not to be able to down that much.

Water is always best. Gatorade has a fair bit of sugar and contains sodium, which if you already eat a fair bit of both can lead you on the path to gestational diabetes. Crystal Light and other mixes like that are full of aspartame which has also been shown to have negative side effects (I had a headache for 70 days straight when I was consuming diet coke frequently, few headaches now that I have removed it from my diet). Juice in moderation is fine (has vitamins but can also be high in sugar) and milk is good as well (you need your calcium and vitamin D). I like a mix of orange juice, pineapple juice and carbonated water - it's zippy but contains less sugar. If you toss in frozen strawberries and lemon slices and let it sit for a day, that is quite yummy as well. Water alone with lemon wedges or cucumber slices is good too. I hope this helps you!!

Eight glasses of water is only a guide line. We all need to drink allot more water than most Americans do though. Soda pop is no substitute. Water out of the faucet with chlorine in it is not the best, health speaking. There are only three kinds of bottled water that are really better than out of the faucet though. 70% of bottled water are no better than faucit water. Your body flushes all the toxens from food, air and drink that we take in through our kidneys. The more you drink the more you urinate. If your urine is dark yellow it means that either you arn't drinking enough water or you are taking a cheap vitamin and it is just passing through without any benafit to your body. Drinking good water clenses the inside like water washing the dirt off of your car.

I have researched this previously, and there is no empirical proof that human beings need to consume so much water - the Bottled Water companies say we should, but even Kidney specialists say that we do not need to drink those 8 x 8 ounce glasses of water each day. Nobody seems to know where that figure actually comes from! Keep your eye on how you feel, try to drink water before you feel thirsty, drink more when the weather is hot or when you are working hard and sweating. If your urine looks "strong" that is an indicator that you need to drink more, but if your urine is pale, then don't worry. This "drink 8 glasses a day" is a relatively new idea - in the past people were told to drink when they were thirsty and millions of people survived and lived healthy lives! Some people are more prone to dehydration - especially children and the elderly. Remember that we get water from other drinks and often lots of liquid from our foods. I'd say, if you drink juice, a little tea or coffee, a glass of milk now and again, and a glass of water with your meals or if you are thirsty, you will be fine. Use common sense.

I drink 2 glasses of water a day if I'm outside all day. On a normal day, about 1/2 to 1 glass. I drink a lot of Gatorade, Orange Juice, Apple Juice, and Crystal Lite. And I'm not dead. I get dizzy a lot, and I'd imagine that's from not drinking enough water, but it's nothing tragic.

I don't think so. I think that is all of your water intake. Counting what you get from milk and fruits,fruit juices. I really like water and drink it a lot. But I don't drink 8-10 glasses of water every single day. I would have to use the bathroom every 20 minutes!
