carbs give you energy. Protein helps build and repair body tissue. Fat is for long term energy storage. Your diet should consist of carbs mostly (but healthy carbs not candies and white breads), then protein, and then fat.

A good type of protein for pre-workout is slow digesting protein like Casein. A good post workout, is pretty much fast digesting protein like Whey protein. If you take a pre-workout supplement, you can supplement it with BCAA (Branched Chain Amino Acids) which are the building blocks for muscle. Studies have shown that BCAAs and particularly l-leucine can improve muscle recovery, promote muscle buildup and promote an anabolic environment which means more muscle mass. BCAAs are great to be taken right before, during and after. Personally, I use a Bulldozer XL5000, because it has everything you need for a pre-workout including BCAAs and other amino acids that are needed during intense workout sessions. http://brainphysique.com/muscle_building...

Take a supplement like N.O.xplode pre workout to get you going, and take Whey protein after to recover.

Hello, energy is present in all foods. It's an interesting topic and I'm not sure if I'll be able to explain. What happens is that in nature plants absorb sunlight and convert this sunlight into useable "energy" this is stored as starch and fat etc. this food when eaten by us is digested where we breakdown the starch and concert it into "energy." Foods have more energy based on the greater complexity of storage. Hope this answers your question.

Energy is what makes you able to walk and do activities. When energy is in food, that means that when you eat that food, it gives you energy to walk and such.

NO, any food that you purge cannot have any of it's calories absorbed, though you cannot empty all the contents of your stomach. so you will get calories from that which doe not get purged. This is a seriously dangerous practice DO NOT DO IT. Anyone who makes themselves throw up to lose weight needs a mental exam. it is not effective anyway; if you make yourself throw up you will cause your body to go into starvation mode and it will try to gain weight. This is bad for your stomach lining and even worse for your esophagus it will cause you to have acid reflux later in life...and that is seriously not attractive; gives you horrible breath and burns the enamel off your teeth making them yellow and decayed.
