It isn't healthy for you. You won't gain weight from water though no. People will tell you if you don't eat then you'll gain weight. That's not true you can gain weight when there is nothing coming in. It will however start eating away your muscles not fat. Once you lose then 10-20 pounds and start eating normally you will gain weight like CRAZY and it will be so hard to get it off. I would watch your calories stick to around 1200-1500 or ask your doctor what a good number for you is. But this isn't healthy and you will regret it later. 10 pounds is nothing you could lose it in a month or two healthy and keep it off

1) Protein is only delivered differently due to the type of carbohydrate component and fat content in the drink. If you drink it with full fat milk it will take longer to digest as the fat will slow down absorption and the carbs aren't that high. If you drink it with fruit juice it will be delivered a lot quicker as the insulin spike will shuttle the protein straight in to the areas it is required (post workout). 2) Yes. If you have protein with water it will have less calories. For example: 60g Protein:236 calories 500ml Water: 0 calories TOTAL: 236 calories 60g Protein: 236 calories 500ml Orange Juice: 236 calories TOTAL: 472 calories More calories in = more weight gain provided you're eating higher than what you need for maintenance. If you have your protein immediately after a workout then make sure you have around 40g protein in it and at least 80g of simple carbohydrates. At any time through the rest of the day its better to eat solid protein, or have a protein shake made with water and a solid, complex carbohydrate. Ps. Also make sure that you're drinking a protein shake and not a meal replacement shake. The tell tale sign is the amount of carbohydrates in your shake. A standard 60g of protein shake will be around 50g protein, 5g of carbs and 5g of fat. If the carbs and fat are higher than this, its most likely loaded with sugar and other rubbish.

All functions within the body require the presence of water. A well hydrated body enables these functions to occur quickly and efficiently. All chemical processes involve energy metabolism and drinking plenty of water will make us feel more energetic and boost our metabolic rate. Water makes your metabolism burn calories 3% faster. Drinking water is important if you're trying to lose weight, some studies have shown that thirst and hunger sensations are triggered together. If there is a slight dehydration the thirst mechanism may be mistaken for hunger and one may eat when the body is actually craving fluid. As most food contains some water, if one doesn't drink much they may be subconsciously driven to eat more to gain the necessary water supply however, you also gain the undesired effects of increased calorie consumption. Drinking more water can help to prevent overeating and benefit weight loss Importance of drinking water in the modern diet So many new food product created today not only contain high amounts of energy from added sugar and fats, they also contain very little water. Foods today need to be stored for longer periods and foods with a high water content tend to spoil much faster, think about milk, yogurt, eggs, fruits and vegetables. It may be great to think that we can stock our cupboards full of all these tasty foods that last for months, trouble is, it means less water consumption from foods. For the average person experts suggest getting at least 64 ounces of water daily or eight 8-ounce glasses. If you are on a diet to lose weight it is more important to consume more and keep drinking water throughout the day, unless you have any medical condition that doesn't allow much water intake. A good guide for daily intake is to drink 1 ounce of water for every 2 pounds of body weight. A 200 pound person should be drinking around 100 ounces (12.5 cups) of water in order the gain the benefits of increased energy and metabolism. If exercising is part of a weight loss program a bit more water should be included to account for water loss from sweating. Drinking water before, during and after exercise will keep energy levels high and help recovery after training. Many people don't like drinking pure water. Gaining water from eating fruit high in water content is a great way to boost water consumption without drinking it directly. Fruit will also help fill up the stomach with low calories and gain tons of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients to increase vitality.
