I am a smoothie addict!! I buy frozen vanilla yogurt, orange, raspberry, lime sherbet, frozen blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and put it all in my blender with some grape juice. It's AWESOME! Nothing I mentioned has any fat in it, I buy the Kroger brand so it's inexpensive and I make a bunch at once and put it in a plastic bowl with a tight fitting lid and put it in my freezer. When I want some, I just go to the freezer and scoop some out! It's perfect for breakfast or a snack and it's good for you :) Oh and I've lost over 20 lbs! :)

Healthy Broccoli Smoothie
1 Carrot (chopped)
4 Florets of Broccoli
2 Handfuls of Spinach
1 Apple (chopped)
2 Oranges (peeled and quartered)
Orange Juice to dilute
You can change the fruit and vegtables to your requirements but this is one way of ensuring you get the portions of fruit and vegtables your body requires.
Ridgerunner's Blended Spinach Salad
1 cup pineapple
1 apple (or a couple carrots)
1/8 slice lemon with peel
1 tbsp ground flaxseed
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 large handful raw spinach (about 8 oz - yes, 1/2 lb!)
First blend the pineapple, orange, pear, apple, lemon and flaxseed to a nice fluid. Add the frozen blueberries and blend them in. Last, add the spinach and blend for 20-30 seconds until smooth. It looks horrible (purplish brown) but tastes delicious! (and you will be surprized how much it "compresses down" with blending - 1/2 lb compresses down to about 1 cup fluid).
I started off just adding spinach to the carrot citrus cocktail we all love, but gradually started adding more fruits. The secret is to have lots of sweet and fluidy fruits to overwhelm the subtle flavor of spinach. You CANNOT taste the spinach - I guarantee it!

1 pkg. (4 serving size) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
2 medium ripe bananas, cut into chunks
1/2 cup POST BANANA NUT CRUNCH Cereal
2. Cooking Directions
Place all ingredients in blender container; cover.
Blend on high speed 15 sec. or until smooth.
Yield: 4 servings (Serving size: 4 servings, about 1 cup each)
3. Still Hungry?
This creamy delight is a drink and a dessert blended in one.
Variation - Strawberry-Banana Pudding Smoothie
Prepare as directed, substituting 1 cup sliced strawberries for 1 of the bananas.
Top each smoothie with 1 Tbsp. thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping.

Your rate of metabolism dictates how many calories you burn. Heredity, gender, age, body size. diet and nutrition, activity level, and your overall health factor in on determining how high or low your metabolism is. Ways to Boost Your Metabolism

smoothies, depending on which ones, can have many many calories and tons of sugar!
eat special k, but not the smoothies.
just try cutting out sweets & reducing calorie intake, and especially don't eat right before you go to bed.
also fit in some exercise..

Yup. Smoothies and Ensure are safe to drink.. Just avoid anything with caffeine especially during the first trimester. I know how you feel about everything just making you feel sick. I lost 12 pounds in my first trimester.
