Alrighty here's the deal. I'm not huge but..i'm not happy with my body. I've gained about 20lbs in the past year and a half or so and..i wanna get back into the shap i used to be in (slim, slender, athletic, cutee) I dont have a lot of money to spend on things like personal trainers and big diet plans like the ones on tv. I've talked to my friends about it and they all think i'm "finee the way [i] am" but..like i said i'm not happy with my body. Any tips or words of advice for me guys? I could really use the help and support.

Effective weight loss that is lasting doesn't come from a pill or from restricting calories. Either one teaches your body that it's starving and your body reacts by lowering your metabolism (how fast you burn calories). To help boost your metabolism, you should work out in the morning - this will lift your metabolism for the entire day. Also, any constant exercise (cycling, walking, etc.) that lasts for more than 20 continuous mins. causes your body to start burning fat for energy. Plus, spread your normal diet out into 5 or six smaller meals each day. Every time you eat a meal your metabolism also goes up slightly.

As said by krzynurse: Eat lean protein, boneless skinless chicken, fish, nuts, oatmeal, yogurt, granola,fresh fruits and veggies, cut out alcohol, butter , high fructose corn syrup (in soda and a lot of juice drinks)eat a lot of lean meats, low fat dairy, watch the carbs, eat whole grain bread, etc....

Try eating things that are high in fiber to cut back your appitite. Fiber expands in your stomach to make it feel more full. You can even try a supplement like Metamucil.
To speed up your metabolism, exercise more! This works both ways for you. You really have to bust your tail to loose weight!! If you don't already have one, I suggest you get an mP3 player. Music was always a huge motivation for me. Put on something that makes you want to DANCE!!
And finally, the other most important is calorie control. I found this website's free assestment extremley helpful to me when I was doing weight loss. It will tell you what amount of calories to eat per day; depending on your height, weight and activity levels.
You can do it without spending hardly any money at all. I've been a trainer for the last 4 years. Losing weight is an art, not a science. That being said there are very specific things you can do. The pad answer is exercise and eat right. It's boils down to calories in vs. calories out. Practicals: start drinking water instead of soda. You don't have to stop cold turkey, sub 1 per day, next week 2 per day etc. Stay away from fried foods and super processed foods. Eat 4 or 5 small meals intead of 2 or 3 big ones. Breakfast is a must. Cereal or oatmeal or fruit. Cut back on coffee and caffine. Incorporate regular exercise. If you can't get to a gym, start walking at least 20 min. a day and build up to jogging. Stretching is important. You might want to hire a trainer for 2 or 3 sessions to get you going. They can talk to you about basic exercise and basic food habits. Craigslist.com has trainers that advertise on there. Most important things:1. Be consistent 2. Listen to you body-pain is the joints is bad soreness in the muscle is good.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.
It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

It is slowly coming off, thank god! Good luck!

Well, any supplements to help you lose weight is either going to be a fast loss which also makes for a fast gain when you stop taking it (eg. colon cleanses), it's something that is going to starve your body of certain nutrients that it needs, or it's not going to be a sole source of weight loss. What I mean is that exercise is going to be required for any solid, long-term weight loss... it's also a really good (and safe) way to lose weight. Some of the best ones I've seen that can help lose weight with exercise are Chromium, Tonalin CLA, and/or L-Carnitine.
In addition to that, I would recommend meeting with a nutritionist or dietitian to see if there is something else that may benefit you more.
As long as you are at a weight where you are healthy, the most important part is that you are HAPPY with your weight... not that you "should be X pounds", but that no matter what you weigh, you are happy with that instead of striving to be a size 2 or something like that.
