I am 19, 5ft 5in, 194lbs or more. I am so VERY desperate to lose weight. I have been going to the gym for 2 weeks and haven't lost a pound. I am finding it very difficult to lose weight counting calories and other BS. This is the umteenth time I have tried to lose weight and nothing.

u probably just eat a lot of crap food... ur overweight by a lot so if ur going to the gym and still not losing weight there is something in ur diet. u dont have to count calories just eat healthy... if u want to know what u are doing wrong put what u ate today in ur additional details and il show u wat u need to change

Processed food is not healthy for anyone. In the case of Subway, processed lunch meats are full of nitrates. Nitrates are known to cause colon cancer. If Subway was providing organic vegetables, they would advertise this fact. GMO foods are dangerous and are also present in most processed foods with corn or soy.
If you have liver damage it would be best to start eating organic and if you live in an area that sells whole foods, shop there. We have a few places in Texas that sell organic and wholesome foods. They also have a cafeteria type diner. The food is fresh and healthy with no chemical additives.
It is important to be educated regarding our food products. My husband and I eat out occasionally (1 - 2 times per month). We prefer to prepare our own meals because we know it is healthier for us and we know what we are eating. Also, it costs much less when you prepare your own food.
I am not sure where you live, but perhaps you can do a search online for healthy eating diners, etc..

To start with you aren't fat, just a little overweight, perhaps. Because you are not obese, you will lose weight more slowly than if you were. Four months is not a long time in relation to the rest of your life and you want to lose the weight in that time. It is possible. Would your parents pay for you to attend Weightwatchers or Slimming World for a short time? You would learn how to slim safely and nutriciously, rather than crash dieting. You really will have to develop patience. Even if you lost 1lb a week, you would be half a stone lighter in seven weeks. In fourteen weeks, you would be 1 stone lighter, making you 9 stones, which would be an ideal weight for you. You would probably lose more than 1lb some weeks, so it might not take you 14 weeks. well, to set all myths to rest, diets dont work. what they do is deprive your body of the essential nutrients it needs to survive. when that happens, you lose body weight. not body fat, but body weight. it could be muscle, water, fat, or even bone!
the gym is a great place to start. first step would be to find out what your bmr. basil metabolic rate. and calculate how many calories you need PER DAY. then, subtract 250, and work out. reason for no subtracting SO MUCH calories that you lose like 5lbs in a week, is because your body will notice what's goign on and it will basically go "oh so you wont give me calories? fine, i'll just slow down your metabolism". your body will not react the way you want it to if you subtract too many calories from your daily diet. my best advice is follow the math- 3,500 calories=1lb of body fat. so, minus 500 (250 from diet 250 from exercise) per day, and thats about 1lb or more, per week. this will not slow down your metabolism and it will kinda help you keep enough calories to actually perform better in your work out.
remember to eat a little before you go work out. maybe a half of a sandwich, but watch what you put in/on it. you want the carbs, not so much calories. never work out on an empty stomach. that doesnt help you. it only shortens your workout and burns muscle.
also, muscle burns calories. 1lb of muscle burns 35-50 calories per day.
so with all this being said, continue with the gym, you WILL notice results. two weeks is not enough time to gain muscle mass (not bulk, c'mon girls dont have the same muscle structure as guys) and endurance (to go further and further with your exercise). keep at it. don't give up, and remember, diets aren't hte way to go. and by diet, i mean atkins, etc. subway is fine but you gotta be careful...
cardio+weight lifting. dont just run on the treadmil, you need to do sit ups, squats, push-ups, and 'assisted' pull ups (or row). work your entire body.

Stay away from sweetened bottle drinks, especially sodas. Hey all those colas and fizzy drinks are sweetened with sugar and sugar means calories. The more you can cut out on these sweetened bottle drinks, the better for you. So if you must drink sodas, then stick to diet sodas.

i am not sure about that but I have been losing two pounds a day with the following: I have eaten a 90 calorie breakfast bar, 3 hours later some carrots, three hours later a lunch between 200-300 calories, more carrots or celery three hours later, and dinner between 200-350 calories. Then I go to the gym and run to burn between 400-600 calories. usually takes an hour- elliptical too. drink lots of water and an occasional diet coke! I stay full and lose weight! the key is small but frequent meals and cardio. Weight training will also burn fat. Hope this helps. Its also very easy to do while in school: I am a college student and married and work- very busy but if you get it ready the night before its great and easy.
