What should I do to lose weight?
Topic: What should I do to lose weight?
April 25, 2019 / By Anderson Question:
I'm 15, female, 5'3 and currently weigh around 166 pounds. I eat around 2-3 meals a day (mainly rice, pasta or spaghetti and sometimes chips+sausages or pizza), no snacks and mostly do about 5 minutes a day on the exercise bike (at quite a fast speed though) before my legs start to ache and I need to stop.
The problem is, I never really have the motive to do more than just what I usually do. Of course I want to lose weight but I honestly don't know how to do it and I'm not really an outside sort of person because of the lack of nearby friends to do anything healthy and fun with.
I don't want to go to a gym, join a local club or anything like that. I just want something good that works without me having to travel miles to get to or to do, hopefully something I can do around the house.
Any helpful answers will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
In case you didn't read, the five minutes on the exercise bike I do is at a high speed, not a really slow and half-arsed speed.

Its good that you're using the exercise bike, and I know 5 hardcore minutes on it at full speed can be intense! You're already off to a good start with that.
As for finding the motivation, my cousin was telling me just the other day how she's been staying motivated to lose weight. She gave me about 3 reasons, and I figured that if they worked for her, they might work for you.
How will people see you, and what will they be saying about you when you’ve lost weight and got yourself in great shape? Being recognized by others for being in great shape and achieving your weight loss goal can be very motivating.
2) Sex And Relationships
Wanting to attract a partner as a result of being more attractive can motivate you to lose weight. So can the desire to improve your sex life – or your relationship with your partner generally, as a result fo the increased energy, confidence and general happiness that you will gain as a result of losing weight.
3) Increased Energy
If can be really frustrating to lack the physical energy to get the most out of life, so the feeling of missing out due to a lack of energy and general physical health is another strong motivator. By losing weight, you’ll increase your energy levels, get tired less often, and be able to do more fun and enjoyable things in your life – as well as having the energy to be more successful at work and generally.
Finally I think it might be good for you to check out the website my cousin has been raving about for the past 2 weeks. Not only is she finding the motivation now to go the extra mile, but she's really losing weight now thanks to this website and it's products.
Check it out and best of luck!

Maybe since protein helps to build muscle, cut down on some protein? But not all! .. also if you are just eating healthier but the same volume of food that may also contribute as you still could be eating more than you need to. Try to eat between 1500-2000 calories a day and actually count everything even small bites of things and small snacks - this is where so many hide for me !
Also what kind of exercise arw you doing ? Some are much better for losing weight than others .. zumba is a favourite of mine but also running , dancing and spin ( bike) classes are good. Anything with more cardio .. if you do weight machines to work out too.. to get toned rather than add muscle its good to do a lower weight with more reps. I never go above 15kg and just keep adding reps each month or so.
Also.. drink lots of water it will give you more energy if you're lowering food intake and help to flush everything out.
Good luck ! :) hope you work out how to get to your goal !
if you re eating out make salad the appetizer most starters are fried and come with unhealthy dips or sauces

I had a similar problem, and I tried everything, but nothing worked. Until I discovered the YMCA. I know you said you didn't want to do any gyms or anything, but it was really the only thing that's kept me at it for as long as I have, and I think it could really help you. I'm 15 and 5'7", and before I started going to the Y I was averaging about 170 pounds. Now, after only two months, I'm 145 pounds, and still working on my health.
You said you get tired easily, and trust me, I did too, and still do. But just try a little at a time. Maybe just walk for a few minutes and then jog for one. Also remember it's good to eat some protein an hour before or after you work out. Getting healthy won't happen over night; it'll take a while.
And if you don't want to try the Y because you're embarrassed to see someone there that you know, try to ignore that. That's how I was until I realized I should be proud that I want to be in shape.
Also, eat less and eat healthy. Drop the pizza and chips, or at least eat them in moderation. Make sure you eat fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water; it'll fill you up.
Well, I hope I helped.

First of all, I think you're not getting enough exercise, because 5 minutes of exercise on the bike a day is too short. Try to get in at least 30 minutes of exercise!
And second, some of the food your eating contains high calories, like chips, sausages, and pizza. I'm definitely not telling you to STOP eating those, but make sure you don't eat too much of that at once. Portion control is very important in dieting. And try to get a variety of fresh vegetables and fruit and lean meat in your diet.
So overall, you're doing good, but just get in more exercise! Because 5 minutes is too short!
Hope I helped!

Hi, look for an OA (overeaters anonymous) meeting in your area - you can find a local meeting at oa.org . Talk to the contact there and go along a few times, see how it works for you. I know hundreds and hundreds of people who have lost weight and completely changed their lives through OA. It's worth a try :)

That should help you out. From what I see you are not getting nearly enough calories or protein.. You need about 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight, which is why whey protein is recommended..With that diet you will not even have enough energy to even do your cardio regimen in the long-run. I would up your calories to at least 2k, and preferably 2.5-3k if you weight lift. Add some lean meats such as skinless chicken breast, tuna, turkey, and etc to your diet. Also you will have more benefits from green tea over black tea. Also do not neglect resistance training/weight lifting when losing weight. You may put on muscle weight, but you will boost your metabolism and lose body fat much more efficiently in the long run.
