Topic: Does this sound like a list of healthy snacks/foods to have in my dorm room?

celery and carrots, bananas, apples, peanut butter, whole wheat bread and bagels, yogurts, granola, cream cheese, cottage cheese, sun chips, hummice, chex cereal, special k, milk. Last semester all I ate was sugary fatty foods and now I am regretting it, so this semester I am going to try to eat better and excercize more, I've been losing weight over Christmas break and I plan on doing that when I go back to college. let me know if you think thats a good list of healthy options and if you have any things to add, please let me know! thanks!

Yes but some frozen blueberries, cherries and pineapple would be good if you have room in your freezer, you can mix them with plain yogurt or cottage cheese and they are a good source of anti-oxidants and enzymes. Sweet potatoes can be baked in the microwave oven and are loaded with beta-carotene, necessary for good immune function among other things. And see if you can put some more veggies in there on occasion, the more variety the better. Such as greens, and tuna or other fish.

Try making sandwiches or wraps, just throw some produce and maybe hummus in there, super easy. I use tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, cucumbers, olives, zucchini, snow peas, etc.
Also there are lots of healthy canned foods out there like vegetable soups, chili, etc. Trader Joe's has some great healthy canned soups.
Whatever you do stay away from instant noodles!
Carrots and hummus!! They are healthy and filling. Pitas are great to dip into hummus, too. Low salt pretzels are okay. Find some healthy crackers and keep a good quality jam (no high fructose corn syrup) in the fridge.
i would change the milk to soymilk. i keep cans of fruit such as pineapple,peaches,fruit cocktail etc. and open and eat out of can while watching tv. quite often i have a bowl of water with carrots and celery in it sitting on kitchen table so i snitch some when i go in there.
that sounds good add some whole grain crackers too they make really good ones and stick with regular water not flavored water
