I expect both the Texans and the Cougars to do very well.
The Texans are increasing their strength in offense as well as defense. You can expect to see even better offensive numbers from Schaub and Johnson this year from last year. With Owen Daniels healthy, he will provide Schaub with more passing options and stats as well as spreading the opposing defensive coverages. The running game is still a concern, but it shouldn't hinder the progress too much. My bet is that the Texas make it to the playoffs this season.
The Houston Cougars are returning 7 defensive starters and 9...yes NINE offensive starters, including it's main weapons Case Keenum and his favorite target James Cleveland. The Cougars became just the fourth team in NCAA to have three 1,000-yard receivers last season and ALL THREE are back for another year. Expect Case Keenum to again throw over 5,000 yards, easily leading Conference USA in offensive stats and heading back to a bowl game as the Conference USA Champions.

The Texans have a shot at the playoffs.
I really like Houston, but it is hard to go undefeated and make a BCS bid. There is always 1 or 2 teams that deserve a BCS bid that never get it. I am glad to see the Cougar program turn around though.

The Texans are in the toughest division in the NFL, but they have a chance to possibly make it as a wild card. Don't expect them to knock the Colts off the AFC South championship, because the Colts have an incredibly talented team this year.
The University of Houston did good in football last year, but I don't see that happening on a regular basis. Most likely that was a senior squad, meaning this year is likely a freshman squad and a much poorer performance.

Houston has no QB so no playoffs for them. Schaub has been overrated since his 1 good game with ATL.
