Question: i am a vegitarian and having a hard time finding cheap but good tasting alternatives to meat for protein.any helpwould be great :) :)

If your not vegan, dairy foods such as milk, yogurt, ice cream (!), and if your not omitting eggs, they are nearly 100% protein. Other than these, the greatest sources of protein in the vegetable diet are beans and grains. preferably whole-grains. Most people, especially meat-eaters get more protein than they need. If your still growing (a teen-ager), you will need more, as your body continues to get larger, but if you are an adult, you might be surprised at how little protein you need.

I can`t say for other vegitarians, but for me, I eat fish, eggs, from my own chickens,cheese from local goats, tofu, and tons of beans, all kinds. This is a hummy diet for sure. Lots of choices here.

Soy meats (boca and morning star brands), if you arent vegan try free range eggs (they're cheap and last forever), soy milk, odwalla protein drinks (i like the chocolate mmmm), tofu (of course), beans beans beans, nuts ... **edit** eggplant has a lot of protein too and i love it

Hemp Hearts. They are hulled hemp seeds. If you can only buy full seeds, throw them in a magic bullet or something. They taste like sunflower seeds to me. You can add them to anything! smoothies, salads, soups, cereal. They give you energy so eat most in the mornings. They are good for weight loss as well.
