Straight up, here it is. I was about where you are in the early 90's. I walked 2 miles a day, everyday & the weight began to come off. As it did, I increased walking. I walked 2 miles the earlier part of the day & 2-3 miles after work. My appetite decreased naturally. I never focused on how to drop weight "fast", just focused on the exciting results. In less than a year, I was at 120 lbs and felt great. Incorporated workouts at the gym (now have a home gym), made sure to drink as much water as possible & tried to limit fried foods (now hardly ever). The slower you lose the weight, the easier it will be to keep it off & allow your skin to adjust. Water intake will help the elasticity in your skin to bounce back - so make sure to drink lots of water!! Anything you do now has to be part of your new life. It's called behavior modification. Only do exercise you enjoy (cause you'll eventually stop if you don't) and don't totally deprive yourself of things you enjoy (keep them in moderation). 15 years later, I have a healthy body, mind & way of life. Hope this helps.

Hello! it is completely awesome that you want to lose weight, so congrats on that my friend. okay so here is what you can do, 1. change your diet. i would start out writing down everything you eat in a day for a complete week or even two week, this way you know what your eating. you can even the calories amount this way you know how much you need to cut out. 2. Once you have done your first week, it's time to add exercising and diet changing. Get early and the morning to workout so it spikes your metabolism for the rest of the day. Start doing brisk walking for 40 minutes until you can turn that walk into a slight jog. As for diets eat everything that natural, nothing that has any artificial flavoring or food or anything. keep to salads, turkey burgers, even grilled chicken. if you eat out a lot go to places that are catering towards people trying to stay healthy. Mcdonalds is such a bad choice because one large fry is 500 CALORIES! and thats not including the drink, a large hi-c is 500 calories it's self. This is wear people gain weight when they are thinking they are eating less. 3. Stay motivated and you can do it ! Pills will not work, they only attack your health which in the long run will make you gain more weight. i'd say it would take a year maybe, but depending on how serious you are you can lose it in less than a year. Once you get on the road to success you'll find losing weight is easy.

I am 5'4 and 197lbs. I am currently working on losing weight myself. My goal is to be about 115-120lbs. Losing about 100lbs in a year is about right. It really just depends on how much you work out and what you eat. If you loose 2lbs a week it will take you about 11.5 months to lose the weight. If you loose 3lbs a week it will take 7-8 months to lose the weight. If you loose 4lbs a week it will take you about 5-6 months to lose the weight. First thing is change your diet. Eating 5-6 small meals a day and drinking plenty of water will help. You can find some great healthy recipes at shape.com and fitness.com. Instead of eating ground beef replace it with ground turkey. If you never had it, I personally think it tastes better. Buy plenty of fresh fruits and veggies. Eat smaller portions too. Losing weight is hard but you have to do it for you and no one else! That's the only way you can stick to it. Best of luck! Ooo, also here are two sites that you can track your fitness for free http://www.onlinefitnesslog.com and http://www.fitday.com

no. whoever told you that is an idiot. muscle is the only thing that takes time to build. Your body can only put on 1 pound of muscle a week at maximum. You can burn a pound of fat a day if youre dedicated enough. thats 3500 calories a day that need to be burned to lose 1 pound a day. Start eating nothing but RAW vegetables and drink ONLY water. occasional dairy, whole wheat and meat, buy multi-vitamins also. If you eat 1200 calories a day and burn 2700 off at the gym every day... 2000 (your body burns this automatically) + 2700 burned = 4700-1200, which in turn equals 3500 (1 pound of fat). If you exercise on all different cardio machines to avoid soreness (eliptical, stairmaster, treadmill, etc.), then you can effectively burn a pound of fat a day without going into starvation mode to lower your metabolism. Ofcourse you will have to stay at the gym about 3-4 hours a day to do this, but if you want it gone in about 3 months, you NOW KNOW HOW. Good luck.

ok ok first...do not lose the weight all at once. i mean dont starve yourself and dont go on a crash diet. you need to weight train while dieting because after losing 100 pounds....you might encounter alot, but i mean alot of loose saggy skin. i lost 30 lbs and i have loose sking...imagine 100. just take it easay and lose no more than 3 lbs per week

The fact that someone is linking metabolism blasters to a 15 year old is quite disgusting. There's no easy fix in weight loss and studies have found that people who take off body fat fast (through starvation and other desperate manners) regain their weight just as quickly you have taken it off. By starving yourself you deplete your stores and can cause damage to your muscles not to mention other body functions. You just need to eat healthily, in moderation and complete lots of exercise.. which shouldn't be too hard at your age. It's all about discipline and the first step is to acknowledge that there is no easy fix and it's all downhill from there. Best of luck with everything.
