do diet pills really work and are they safe for people under 18? i keep reading about Lipoplex with Hoodia and ppl say it works but is it safe and for 18 and under????

Other than Alli (the only fda approved diet pill so far) the only substances which will actually help you to lose weight are not officially diet pills. They are egcg, capsaicin, large amounts of calcium (really!), and monounsaturated fat. They don't do much too help you loose weight faster, but if you take them faithfully, you will have a lower final weight. Let me explain. A person who eats 2,100 calories a day and is relatively active should weigh about 140plbs. If these pills are able to cancel out 450 calories a day, than they will eventually weigh thirty plbs less without dieting at all, but they will lose it very, very, very slowly. Try a green tea pill with 90mg of green tea and a small amount of caffeine, 3xs daily. Plus 600mg calcium 3 xs daily, and a capsicin pill (no one is sure yet exactly how much capsaicin is necessary, but any pill will contain plenty) Also eat about 1 tbs. of olive oil a day in your food. All of these pills bought at the same time, are still less expensive than most diet pills.

Taking pills is risky and could hurt you. Stick to exericse and healthy eating. Whole foods such as fruit, vegetables (especially leafy greens), whole grains (oatmeal, brown rice) and legumes (beans, peas, lentils) and if you drink milk use soy, almond or rice milk. When you eat nutrient dense whole foods your body is nourished and satisfied, stopping constant food cravings.
To get rid of belly fat, avoid saturated fat (animal products) and refined carbohydrates (white flour products, sugar) as these are empty calories.
Pilates or yogalates is the best way to strengthen your core. Walk fast at least 30 minutes every day.
when you eat calorie friendly fruits and vegetables that are in season they tend to taste better and you re more likely to enjoy them

Good question, and I have some answers but not all of them. Each and every pill is created on a different compound, or chemical base. Each has it's own unique qualities. The same goes towards people, each and every one of us are different. Our chemistry reacts differently to everything. The bad part would be NOT doing the research and having a bad after affect and being sent to the hospital or nothing at all will happen. It really depends on what exactly your body needs. Some will provide the nutrition more or less than what you need, at the same time, some may not provide what you need at all and may just be considered pointless and therefor you may only be self-medicating. Consult a doc before taking the pills.
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.

You are too young for diet pills. Stick with exercise. oh, and for future reference, you have what is called a 'body set point'. This is a natural body weight for you. Don't worry what other people think or do, your most important issue is your health. If you mess up your body set point, you will end up with medical problems that are simply not worth it.
Since you are only 13 it's important to know that your body, as it is now, will change over the next 7 - 10 years.
Whatever you do, put 'healthy' first... anything else is secondary.
