Question: I never had it. I hear it was nice. But all the sprays and stuff in fields now I presume the only way have it is grow it yourself. Is it like Green Tea? I hate sprays; I no longer can have honey suckle because of them. You know those delicious honey flowers. I miss them (sad face) Thanks I was going to say are there any people in any county n Ireland but the question would be too long. I apologise. That is interesting about the soup. Honey suckles are still around but they are not as nice. Well from country roads anyway because of sprays. I am sure they are grand n a dormant field.

Nettle tea is really nice - I prefer mine cold and unsweetened, but of course you can use hot water and honey too! You can buy packets of nettle tea in every health food shop and some supermarkets (it's not the same as green tea). For real and proper stuff, I think my neighbour does make it proper as well as nettle soup. I recall talking about it before when gardening eyeing the nettles in the garden (which I was leaving there for the butterflies) so it's possible to DIY it from the garden.

I both agree and disagree with you, RScott. I have a problem with the idea that someone who has food has the wisdom to tell those who are starving how they should live. But, I do agree that every brain on the planet should be educated to the limit of its ability to learn. We really do need everybody. Tens of thousands of children starving to death each day is unquestionably a horrible on going tragedy, but the loss of countless Einsteins, Bach's, and Basho's is a disaster. John Lennon (one of the great minds of my generation) came out of the slums of Liverpool. How many more little potential geniuses do we think that we can afford to let starve? I am going to make a pitch now, if you don't like such things, read something else. There is a way that everyone reading this can give a little over a cup of food each day to a hungry person without any cost to the donor. Just daily go to http://www.hungersite.org and push the button. You can do this once a day and the advertisers on the page will donate 1.1 cups of food to the hungry. It's a good deal. It don't cost you nothing, and somebody gets to eat. Kuma

Birth control is not what they need. The reason why there's such a problem, is because people over there don't have the education to know better.

I have never tasted nettle tea. I have read that substituting green tea for your favoured tea and Coffee will ensure you lose 4lbs a month without any exercise. I am putting that to the test as we speak.

Counties don't drink tea, but people do. Lots of people not only still drink it, but also use nettles for soup and in other dishes. And I see honeysuckle growing in many places still ...

Yes as long as there are no known contaminants on the plant or in the soil. I would not pick nettles that have grown by the roadside because these pick up more in the way of pollution from car exhausts. Be sure it is stinging nettle. Get someone else to identify the plant for you if necessary. I would only use young nettles if you are going to cook them for soup for instance. You can use older leaves for tea however. I would air dry them for storage purposes.
