Question: Im 15 years old and i weigh 114 pounds and im 5'5. Am i overweight? and i was wondering what are some things that are healthy but good that i can eat. especially snacks.haha. and i play soccer 3 times a week so i need food thay can give me energy too. thanks! (:

You sound like your at a good weight....you could gain another 10+ pounds and still be at a good weight, honestly! Sounds like your active already so the best thing to lower body fat is just to clean up your diet. Snacks I enjoy that really give me energy is fat free yogurt or cottage cheese mixed with almonds and grapes. Or Kashi crackers with mozerella cheese and sun-dried tomatos. I also keep healthy protein bars around for a quick snack when I need alot of energy. Carrot sticks dipped in peanut butter are also good :)

Dried fruit is very good. I'm not sure if you can eat it with braces. Always eat a small salad or cup of soup before eating your meal because you will be too full to finish! Getting full on salad is much better than getting full on mashed potatoes. Don't drink pop. Even diet pop is bad for you. Don't drink juices that have added sugar. Stick to skim or 1% milk. Eat a small breakfast every morning to keep your metabolism up. If your metabolism is slow, ANYTHING you eat will make you gain weight.

Banana! Nuts have good fat, they help you with energy and keep you from being hungry for a while. Fruits like grapes (or raisins lol) are good. Carrots, i like the little ones! Oranges are good. Anything fruity or vegetabley is pretty much good. And bananas are by far the best fruit in the world. Oh yea and you are pretty much perfect for your weight. You could probably gain a few pounds if you wanted. 114 at 5' 5" is average i think for a small frame lady, so you're good. You sure aren't overweight so don't worry about that lol.

Hi, Your weight sounds fine and you are active, which is great. If you play soccer 3 times per week, your diet will be important. I found a good eating plan, for free, at www.healthkickuk.com. Was in the Diet and Nutrition section. Even if you didn't follow it, you may get some ideas from it. Good Luck Weejim

A few quick tips that worked for me: -Eat only whole grains -Don't fry foods -The only fat you should be eating is extra virgin olive oil -Eat lean meats like chicken, turkey and salmon -Eat at least 2 fruits and 3 veggies daily -LOTS OF WATER

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
