Question: I am a year-round volleyball player and my school season has just started. Every year during club season I put on some extra body fat due to less practice and workout sessions. We have a new trainer this year and he does not work us out at all. I cannot fit comfortably into my uniform and spandex and the extra body fat makes me feel sluggish and out of shape. When I am my most fit and smallest, I weigh about 135 but I am still 147 right now. This time last year and every year before, I would be at 135ish. How can I quickly lose the body fat for my season?

Surgery. There is no "quick" way to lose body fat. The best thing you can do is begin your own training regiment and reduce the fat, gluten, and carbohydrates in your diet. Try staying with natural foods, and read the Nutrition Facts and monitor what you need vs. what adds to your fat content. Also, hydrate. A lot. By putting water through your system, your body will learn that it does not need to store water to keep itself hydrated because you are keeping it hydrated by just drinking GOOD fluids. By decreasing the water stored in your body, you can lose a few pounds just by doing that. For the exercise, even if you only run, it's better than just doing nothing at all. Again, it depends on what you need individually.

A lot of exercising and eating a lot less is probably the easiest way. But losing weight too fast isn't good for you and should be done at a proper pace.
