Hey, I've recently just started eating healthy and I love smoothies. I just had one with a banana and homemade applesauce, but I need some more ideas. Anyone got any? Thanks.

Here are some healthy ideas of what you could add to a smoothie :)
* If you can, try to use natural organic ingredients
~ Veggies - to make a green smoothie :)
~ Non-dairy milk: almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk, rice milk...
~ Yogurt: greek yogurt, yogurt, goat's milk yogurt, coconut milk yogurt
~ Chia seeds (soaked first in water)
~ Nut butter - almond butter, organic peanut butter...
~ Gogi berries
~ Raw cacao powder
~ Organic fruit juice
~ Natural vanilla
~ Green tea
~ Water, ice
~ Coconut water
~ Agave nectar
~ Organic brown rice vegan protein powder
Some combination ideas:
* Berry Flax Smoothie
frozen organic berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, cherries) with vanilla almond milk & flax
* Tropical Smoothie
pineapple, mango, frozen banana, vanilla coconut milk - you could also add in some vanilla coconut milk yogurt
* Green Smoothie
spinach, kale, cucumber, any greens...with rice milk or almond milk - you could also blend in some berries for natural sweetness
* Raspberry Chocolate Smoothie
raspberries, chocolate almond milk, vanilla greek yogurt
raspberries, agave, raw cacao powder, unsweetened vanilla almond milk
* Strawberry Almond Smoothie
strawberries, almond butter, almond milk
* Apple Cinnamon Smoothie
apple or applesauce, cinnamon, almond milk or rice milk
* Berry Vanilla Smoothie
berries, vanilla greek yogurt or plain goat milk yogurt, vanilla almond or soy milk
* Banana Cocoa Smoothie
frozen banana, raw cacao powder, soy milk, dates
* Watermelon Smoothie
watermelon, ice, yogurt
* Strawberry Kiwi Smoothie
strawberries, kiwi, non-dairy milk

for one meal that is a lot, which is why smoothies are sometimes detrimental to diets: because you can eat 4 fruits+yogurt/juice/whatever and call it a serving.
mango= 135 calories, 31 g sugar
peachx2=140 calories, 30 g sugar
banana= 100 calories, 14 g sugar
1 cup yogurt= about 140 calories (for plain, non fat), 20 g sugar
1 cup 1% milk= 100 calories, 13 g sugar
that adds up to 615 calories and 108 grams of sugar.
that is a LOT of sugar....
you're better off eating whole fruits. They keep you full longer because they have more intact fiber, and you will eat way less, and without the added dairy. Also, studies continuously show that liquids do not keep you full as long as solids for whatever reason, so eating solid foods tends to be better for diets.
This is a great refreshing vegan smoothie recipe for when you want to lay outside in the mid-summer sun. Some people also like to add a kiwi fruit to this vegan smoothie recipe!
1 Cup of resperries
1/2 Cup of blueberries (frozen for preference)
A dozen strawberries (again, frozen strawberries will help for consistency)
Between one and two cups of Cranberry Juice to taste!

Hey same here! I just started blended fruits and vegetables as well. I bought a book by Jason Vale - all his books are about making juice and smoothies for health and fitness. There are heaps of books out there for more ideas, or you can just find some recipes online. My fav is blending pineapple, orange, banana and some ice. Another one is blending orange, apple, kiwi fruit, banana and ice. For a healthy vege drink - cucumber, baby spinach, alfalfa sprouts and slice of lemon. You can add some honey in all your fav smoothies for extra sweetness and taste as well.

This is my favorite one. 2 frozen bananas, honey, peanut butter, cocoa powder, almond milk. Blend. I swear it's so addicting. I was making it with unfrozen bananas, no honey, and no cocoa powder before, but once I made those three changes it is the most addicting smoothie ever.
I used to eat frozen strawberries, banana, yogurt, milk then blend... But I stopped with the dairy. That one was good too in my opinion. You can also mix up the fruit and the yogurt flavors.

Green smoothies - add leafy greens to smoothies, less fruit, more veggies. Also some chia seeds, chlorella, nutritional yeast added to smoothies ups the nutrition.

Personally, I don't think theres any set recipe for smoothies, you can put whatever you want in it, but there are a few basic ingredients that I put in almost all of mine. First, make sure you have non-fat or low-fat plain (unsweetened, unflavored) yogurt. Try the one from Dannons, they sell it in 32 oz containers. If you're trying to be really healthy, go buy some protein powder as well, or some fiber powder (unflavored and clear). Make sure you have some fruit juice (I like orange juice thats not from concentrate) and ice cubes, which you should have in your freezer. Also, purchase some bags of frozen fruit (strawberry, blueberry, etc). Thn, whenever you want a smoothie, blend abou 1 cup of yogurt with 1/2 cup of frozn fruit and 1.2 cup of fruit juice. Add a bit of protein or fiber (fiber makes you feel fuller) powder to make it healthier. Also, you might want to add some honey or sugar/splenda if its not sweet enough for you. (Don't be turned off by the slightly bitter taste of the plain yogurt, ypu're just used to yogurt with tons of sugar in it so it will taste weird at first)
