Unless its FRESH pineapple, it won't do any good. Skip the canned stuff, it supplies virtually nothing in bromelain.
Dogs who eat their poo often don't make adequate digestive enzymes, but pineapple supplies ONLY one of those needed, bromelain. I suggest you invest in a good digestive enzyme product (for dogs) or for people, if you are going to buy it at at a reputable vitamin shoppe or GNC. Frequently, Walmart products aren't what they are cracked up to be.
Prozyme is one made for dogs. Standard Process (vet product) makes:Multizyme which contains: bromelain, pancreatin, lipase, papain & amylase. SP also makes Zypan which contains: betaine hydrochloride, pancreas Cytosol, pancreatin 3x, fatty acids & pepsin.
Give 1 pill per meal.
Your other option is to order the generic Biocase, name brand= Viocase; a stronger digestive enzyme, fed in powdered form. But this is normally reserved for dogs with pancreatic insufficiency.
