When on a low carb diet what sorts of food can I eat? What are some meal ideas and snack ideas as well? And if you have been on a low carb diet how successful was it for you?

Dont get rid of carbs, theyre our major energy source and a diet without them is a diet thats doomed. Everyone is so sacred of carbs but they dont realise there are good and bad ones. Instead of cutting them out switch the bad for good. For example, white bread is a bad carb wholegrain bread is a good carb... white rice is a bad carb wholegrain rice is a good carb. See the trend? Basically you want to go for carbs that havent been altered (from brown to white). So you're aiming for brown breads, rices and pasta. Theyre much healthier and have a Low GI, which means they burn off over time which leaves you with more energy. Which is very good esp when trying to lose weight.

Not successful at all! Sure you'll drop some pounds after being hungry for a few weeks, but you'll have much better luck eating 3 moderate sized meals (portions no larger than the palm of your hand) and 2 healthy snacks, plus exercise.....
You CANNOT lose weight and keep it off by not exercising. Diets are a temporary fix that has quick results, but can often be unhealthy, and the second you start eating carbs again all the weight you lost will come back, plus a few extra pounds to soften the blow!

Don't low carb it! You are basically taking out the most important food group! carbs are the fast energy foods. You need them to survive! I'd say eat a balanced diet with carbs and protein, exercise, drink water, and aim for 1500 calories a day.

hey! umm..i actually hate low carb things cuz u can barely eat fruits and veggies whichhave carbs..very unhealthy..also, u r only losing water weight..sure, u do lose weight, but u dont lose more than a regular well balanced diet where u can actually eat what foods u want! just watch calories..

If you are doing this for two weeks, expect to put the weight back on quickly when you go off the low carb diet. Instead, try the "no sugar, no flour" diet. It is healthier. You can have all the fruits and vegetables you like. All lean meats, fish, poultry are fine. Just avoid sweets and bread. To satisfy that sugar craving, try grapes, mini carrots, sugar free jello.
