In the last year I've gained about 40 lbs (Alot I know) I went from being a healthy weight and happy with my body to overweight and un happy) I have a gym membership and even saw a personal trainer, so I could learn how to work out properly and what not, the problem is I seem to have trouble getting motivated to go to the gym regularly, I'l go for a while but stop and go on. I was also hoping for tips on dieting, I have trouble sticking to a healthy diet, and I LOVE potatoes, which I know I should try to avoid. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

There are no bad foods. Everything in moderation! The best thing to help with a diet is to write EVERYTHING down. Calories, fat, etc. That way you can chart what you are eating, etc. By a nice journal and start. Most successful attempts at weight loss are because people keep track of what they eat. Plus, if you eat potatoes for lunch and they are 300 calories, you can adjust your dinner and snacks accordingly if you can see everything you have eaten. A food journal also holds you accountable.

Find a friend you can go to the gym with. If you can afford it, get a personal trainer, someone that will work you out and come up with a meal plan for you. They will be someone that will hold you accountable and motivate you to go to the gym. Or take group exercise classes to be around other people. Keep a journal of what you eat and allow yourself a healthy amount of calories each day. Weigh yourself once a week and write it down to keep track. Take a picture of yourself each week so you can see the difference. While you are going through the weight loss you might not notice a difference, but as you look at your pictures you will see it and it will keep you motivated.

Losing weight and getting fitter is really quite simple. All you have to do is a few simple things. Firstly, clear your fridge of fatty junk foods. If there’s no temptation, you cannot fall. Secondly, stock up on watermelon and other fruits. Watermelon is excellent because it clears out your digestive system of toxins and waste, leaving you feeling and being healthier. Next, begin exercising every day. Do not go too hard. If running, don’t go fast or uphill, unless you want bulky muscle. A steady pace each day for a minimum of 30 minutes will allow you to shed fat and tone your body. Set a day each week when you each junk food, but try not to go overboard and ruin the work of every other day. Drink plenty of water, often when you think you are hungry, you are actually thirsty. If you are getting cravings, have a glass of water, wait 5 minutes, and then see if you still want food. This usually gets rid of those nasty afternoon hunger pangs for me! Good luck, and I hope you get the results you want!!

Potatoes are my main problem too. Think thin. Seriously. Take a picture of yourself, from when you were thinner, and post is somewhere in your house you always go.

With your history of eating disorders you may want to rethink doing a diet pill, what you may want to do is a program that will provide the body with the proper nutrition, I used to weigh 280 lbs. I now weigh 189 lbs and have maintained that weight for over 4 years. I used to eat so much and I did not understand why, I know now that my body was telling me it needed nutrition vitamines etc. but the food I was eating did not provide what my body needed so I got started on a supplemental program and with it I lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks and over a foot of body fat. There are many supplemental programs out there, and most contain the ingridents or nutrition that a body needs to survive, I personally use Herbalife and will always use it as it is the best in the business and the world. No diet pill will work a senseable diet with added nutrition is the way to go.
