How do I jump start my metabolism?
Topic: How do I jump start my metabolism?
June 19, 2019 / By Agatha Question:
Previous to 06, I was very active with volunteer work and performance dance. 06 was my year off & I gained a lot of weight. 07 is my year to get back in shape. For the last 8 weeks or so I've been working with a trainer 3 times a week & going to the gym on my own 1 or 2 additional times a week, (so I'm working out 4 or 5 times a week.) Following my trainer's instructions, I am following a 1150 calorie diet, with limited red meat, limited whole grain or brown/wheat pastas and breads, but mostly fruits and poultry. I had my evaluation yesterday & have lost 2" from my hips & 1" from my waist & lost in my thighs & arms as well. However, my weight isn't dropping like it should at this point. I know muscle weights more than fat & I am building muscle, but my trainer was also surprised that I hadn't lost more weight. (I have lost 4% body fat.) What more could I do to help in my goal of not just getting fit, but looking good? I could drink more water, but ... any other suggestions?

One thing often overlooked in diet programs is the importance of protein in promoting lean muscle and increasing metabolism. Clinical studies have shown that, when exercising correctly, which it seems you are, diets rich in protein (about 30-35%, depending on your specific needs) actually stimulate metabolism. That is, protein is harder for the body to break down than carbs or fat, so the body stays in "metabolize mode" longer. Since you are limiting red meat, on excellent source of protein, my suggestion would be to look into protein supplements of some kind.
Also, another quick note. Whenever your body goes a period of time without food, it slows its metabolizing rate in order to preserve energy. Basically, it is getting prepared for the possibility of starvation. Thus, our standard three meals a day is actually not ideal for our body's metabolism. Eating approximately 6 small meals throughout the day is an effective way to keep the body's metabolism at its highest possible level.

Congrats on the weight loss! Cheers to living a healthy lifestyle! See your dietitian for more personalized info..
Eating breakfast (search up breakfasts under 300 calories on google), drinking tea (green is best) or coffee (with no added creams and sugar), giving blood, eating small meals frequently instead of 3 large meals, breathing through your nose* and showering in water not as hot as usual* (when you're cold, your metabolism speeds up... very weird, I know!)can all speed up your metabolism.

During your first week of , you probably had huge success and a large amount of weight loss, because you lost water weight and weight from your whole body. Second week is always the worst, and the last weeks you aren't going to get huge numbers, average is 2lb a week or so. Stay motivated!
Try a cleansing diet! I did and lost 11 pounds and 21 inches in only 9 days. I was very happy with the results and continued on the program and lost 29 pounds in 5 weeks. This is the fastest I have ever lost with other diets like Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Medifast, Slimfast etc…. Cleansing works by removing impurities from your body. You get impurities from your food (pesticides, preservatives, food additives, colorings) water, chemicals, pollution, medications, alcohol, hormones that the animals you eat were fed etc….YUCK! The impurites get coated with fat and remain in your body. To remove the fat, you have to remove the impurites. This system worked for me, maybe it can work for you too. You can check out the website or call this toll free number 1-877-587-4647 for more info. The program is not cheap, but it is worth every penny since it works and keeps you motivated. Good luck! You nedd to cleanse your body before starting any diet. here's a cleanse that I used when I worked in a weight loss company.
You follow if for three days.
Breakfast: 1/4 cup eggbeaters, 1/2 orange
Lunch: 2 boiled chicken breasts(fresh, not frozen, they inject broth in frozen chicken breats), 2 cups lettuce
Dinner: 2 boiled chicken brests, 2 cups lettuce, 1/2 orange.
No salt, no salad dressings. You can use apple cider vinegar or lemon juice on your lettuce. You must dring 64 oz water, also decaf tea unlimited and 2 cans of diet pop.
You will be so sick of this diet by the third day, but your boudy will be clean of sugars, fats and carbs. Good luck.

Im afraid your already doing about all you can. Ofcourse water is very important but as far as your metabolism exercise is what boosts it and you are already doing that. Just keep up the exercise I dont know how old you are but Im sure you know after mid 20s metabolism slows down no matter what you do and the older you get the slower it gets. But all is not lost even though slower you can still increase it with the exercise and look good no matter how old you are.

Try breaking apart the 6 classes to incorporate shorter, extra extreme exercises (weights consultation adopted by means of 15-20 mins of HIIT). Could additionally attempting having a cup of espresso earlier than understanding - the caffeine will have to support somewhat bit.
