Question: I'm 11 and I need to drop a few pounds. I know, you are like, You are only 11 so I'm not telling you anything. But I really need to lose weight! I want to be in better shape by the start of middle school. The only exercise equipment I own is one of those walking machines that work your legs and arms- But I am focusing on my middle. I need to trim my STOMACH, nothing else. Thanks to all!

Well, I am 13 going into 8th grade, so I know what you mean when you say you want to lose weight. Im sort of in the same situation as well. I'm not an expert, but I say you should do about eh, 25 sit ups and/or crunches every day. Only eat when you are hungry, there is a difference between having an "appetite" for food and actually having the "need" to eat. Eat 3 meals a day, not too filling. CHEW your food so that the enzymes in the saliva actually break down the starch molecules. Eat healthy, dont starve yourself. Haha. It will be tempting to eat unhealthy foods, but trust me, it pays off. If you do the crunches and sit ups, you will definetly see some results. You can feel it as well. Hope this helps.

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together. If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising, start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack, disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

Im also going into the 8th grade. what im trying is i do a bunch of crunches and sit ups. do it till u can feel the burn! lol. It also helps if u just go walking with ur friends and swim. that burns calories and then u can do the crunches and sit ups right after u get out. maybe that will work and i am trying to cut of on snacking on unhealthy food. hope this helps. -Sarah Carrillo
