Question: Alright, so my family and I are going to Mexico in like 5 weeks and i want to lose like 20 pounds. I'm not fat but I want to lose some of the fat off of my sides..what should i do to lose the weight?

Hey :) I just found this awesome article on "the science behind weight loss". I got it from dietnation.com but I'll paste it here to save you the trouble: "Your body needs a certain amount of calories each day to maintain performance of normal activities, such as walking, breathing, sleeping, and thinking. Depending on your size, your body will require a different amount of calories each day. On the flip side, if you eat too few calories your body will think its starving. This phenomenon goes back to the days of the caveman, when cave people weren’t really sure when or where they would find their next meal. The body learned to store excess calories as fat for future use. Well, we no longer live like that as we, fortunately and unfortunately, have unlimited access to food thanks to modern conveniences. What this means is, if you’re not eating enough calories your body will store the calories it does get as fat rather than trying to burn those calories. That sounds counterproductive, and it is. That’s why it’s important to feed your body regularly with the right amount of calories from the right sources. One pound of fat equals about 3500 calories of stored energy. To lose weight you need to eat fewer calories each day or get your butt to the gym and burn off those calories. It’s that easy - you don’t need to be a mathematician to lose weight, you just need to start taking a look at some of your daily habits. Losing weight could mean shaving an extra 250-500 calories off your daily intake. Start your morning with a tall latte? Just one Vanilla Latte could pack an extra 250+ calories onto your daily caloric intake. By simply substituting your latte with regular coffee or green tea you could reduce your caloric intake substantially. If you want to try more exercise, calorie-burning activities such as walking to work, going for a jog with a friend, or taking the kids on a bike ride are all fun and easy ways to increase your daily activity level. It is also important to remember that you need to eat the right calories from the right sources to lose weight and to maintain your weight loss. A meal of jelly beans and ding dongs that equals your daily caloric needs will not help you lose weight because these types of food are not nutrient sources that your body can use efficiently. Eating right is a vital component of any weight loss plan, but it's also very important to ensure that you get enough exercise. Combine aerobic exercise activities (also know as cardio) like walking, jogging or cycling with weight training (it doesn't have to be anything too intense, but it helps a lot to lift some weights) to maximize your weight loss." Eat Vegetables/Fruits...Lots of Cereals...Protein,Carbohydrates ( idk how u spell it o.O ) ...Vitamins and Minerals...also dont eat sweets,chocolate etc.... ( huh i know the pain but u have to if u want to loose weight ) ALSO EXERCISE A LOT... x)

eat a rainbow of colors have at least one brightly colored fruit or vegetable in each meal and if appropriate eat the skins thats where youll find a powerhouse of antioxidants

Well, what you should do is to not starve yourself. If you are desperate enough to want to starve yourself, you would be so hungry you would eventually pig out. For the healthy way to lose weight, I would suggest taking 15 - 30 minute walks. This will get you slimmer and less exhausted when you walk. Eat some healthy foods as well. When you have a craving for chicken, have it baked or grilled instead of fried. When you don't feel like eating raw vegetables, cook them to make them taste better and also they will make you healthier and keep your weight under control. But, I'm not saying you should just eat healthy 100% of the time. Have yourself a little treat once a week, probably on a weekend. But don't pig out so much that you gain more than you want to gain. On average, you should lose at least 25 pounds. I know this because I have done this many times before. On your trip to Mexico, have fun, go to the beach if you can, get a tan, and pig out as much as you like if you want to. Oh, and if you are going to be walking alot, you can lose alot more weight as well. You'll be glad that you lost all the weight you wanted to lose and you'll feel better about yourself. Have fun in Mexico!!! Mexico is a beautiful state. I know this because I was born there.

I will try to keep it simple. Your metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories to create energy. So the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories and the easier it is to lose unwanted weight. To boost your metabolism naturally you just need to eat the right foods. You can sit down and literally eat a 1,000-calorie dinner and yet be absolutely starving just a few hours later and the reason is simple: Because your body didnt get what it needed in those 1,000 calories so it sends signals to your brain telling you to ingest more calories and thus, the late-night cravings. That means that the surest way to end those late-night cravings and keep your weight loss goals on track is to eat a more balanced, nutritious diet that actually gives your body what it needs. eat about 6-8 very small portioned meals a day. exercise a good bit too. burn more calories than you take in= weight loss. 5 weeks isn't going to give you much time to lose too much but i'm sure you could definitely get rid of 10-15 pounds, at least. you might have to really pace yourself with the small meals but watch, in 3 weeks, you'll see the changes slowly start to show. good luck:)

You can lose a lot of weight just by changing the way that you eat. One of the easiest ways to lose weight is to eat less food but more often. The way I do this is to divide my daily calorie maximum by six. Here’s an example. Let’s say that I want to lose weight by eating only 1200 calories per day. Instead of eating 3 meals a day of 400 calories each, I’m going to do it differently. Instead, I’m going to eat 6 meals a day of 200 calories each.
