Question: I'm 17, 5'5", and around 140 lbs. I know that's quite chubby, but I'm an athlete so some of it is muscle as well. What are some simple ways to lose weight? Such as certain foods or exercises? Please include your own personal experiences! Thanks! I never drink soda, so that's no problem for me.

Your BMI says 23.3, which is labeled healthy, not chubby. But regardless, stop eating so many simple carbohydrates. Sugary snacks and soda contain huge amounts of calories, so say, limiting yourself to 1 soda down from 3 sodas a day can reduce at least 300 calories a day. Don't eat after dinner... not because your body burns fat any differently at night, but simply because it is a habit that is not too difficult to control. Third, just reduce your portions at each meal. Not significantly, just a little. Instead of eating until stuffed, eat until your not hungry. At first your stomache will try and make you feel hungry by giving you extra hunger pangs, but after less than a week it will get used to these new portions and you'll feel normal again. By following these three rules, I was able to go from 212 down to 195 without changing anything else.

do your grocery shopping with a list and a time limit that way you re less likely to stray into the processed foods section

run... and follow up on some core exercises..... run about 30 miles a week to start with and then start adding on more... dont walk when running because it just makes it harder and dont skip a day because your legs will feel like crap when you do run again
