Question: I'm 17, 5'3, 145 pounds. I want to start a diet/eating healthy on April 1. I would like to be down to 130 by the end of may. Is this possible just by eating healthy? What diets could help? (I don't want a diet plan you have to pay for) much help needed!

Losing 10 lbs a month is a good and safe target. Any faster weight loss is likely to be temporary only and in most cases you regain it all. Running, jogging, cycling, swimming, dancing, push ups, sit ups, squats, brisk walking and power walking all help for weight loss but dieting helps more. You can always eat negative calorie foods for weight loss and below is a list of negative calorie foods that will boost your metabolism. Negative Calorie Fruits: apples cranberries grapefruit lemons mangoes oranges pineapple raspberries strawberries tangerines Negative Calorie Vegetables: asparagus beets broccoli cabbage (green) carrots cauliflower celery Chile peppers (hot) cucumber dandelions endives garden cress garlic green beans lettuce onions papaya radishes spinach turnips These foods don't actually have negative calories but when you eat these foods raw or slightly cooked your body burns more calories digesting and processing them than what is in the food itself. To decrease body fat, you need to burn more calories than you consume. The theory behind eating 6 small meals a day is that people who eat 3 meals a day get very hungry between meals, causing them to overeat. It all depends on what works best for you. As for building up your abs, don't waste your time with crunches. You need resistance (weights against your abs and you lift upward). You will see more results from doing situps with weights 3 times a week than if you did hundreds of crunches a day! Good luck.

Losing weight has nothing to do with magic, just math. It takes aprox. 3500 to burn one pound of fat. An average human naturally burns about 2000 calories a day, not including additional exercise. So, all you need to do is burn 3500 more calories then you eat, which you can achieve through diet, exercise, or both. I would check out the 3 day diet, and fat loss 4 idiots, as I've had success wih both

swap out brown rice or quinoa yes even the new super food which both add up to about 220 calories per cup for cauliflower or roasted peppers that are only about 30 calories per cup

Your healthy weight is around 130 max. Instead of Special key, eat whole wheat bran without chocolate. Include salad with your meals at dinner time because you need fiber and secondly, you won't put on weight even if you have a big bowl of salad. Aside from that, drop the yogurt at night and replace with an apple. The secret is to stop eating after 7 pm at night and take a brisk walk for 30 min. at least. This way, you will lose the 30 pounds in 16 weeks if you stick to a healthy diet and some moderate exercise in the morning before breakfast. I was like you before becoming a trainer and lost 30 pound to be healthy, well toned body etc..
