Are you sure it's constipation? A lot of babies don't poop every day and it's perfectly normal. So long as the poop is about the consistency of peanutbutter then it's not constipation. Even if the baby cries and strains. It's fine.
If it IS constipation, then you may want to try a lower-lactose formula, or a gentle-formula, something for sensitive stomachs and see if it helps. You also will want to try exercising her (bicycling her legs, stretching, helping her push her legs against your hands gently, massaging the tummy and back, etc.) Also avoid having her sit in a car-seat or stroller or swing... anything that puts pressure on the rump basically.
As for juice... that needs to be monitored and recommended by a doctor. You may be able to call your doctor and find out what he/she recommends. Yes, babies that young can be given juice, but the doctor needs to tell you how much to start, any warnings, what kind, etc. It's mostly so that if it doesn't work the doctor knows what was recommended and given and when and such. The AAP recommends not giving juice to babies under 6 months except in cases of constipation where the doctor recommends it, and yes my daughter was given some juice by that age because her constipation was pretty bad, but it was an EXTREMELY small amount, smaller by far than anything I've heard recommended on here, and that was enough every 3 days. Really, working with your doctor on it is wisest and safest.
Adding water to formula is dangerous, so you don't want to do that.

I have but would definitely for a slice of that homemade chocolate cake. I had done that for very short distances but it was too hot for the snakes & no bugs either.

You are not supposed to give a baby any juice really until 6 months. Your baby should be at least 2 months to be given ANY juice at all for the constipation. You should call the doctor. You may need to get the formula changed.
Younger than 2 months - Do not deal with it yourself, call up the doctor, as the child is too young to be given any outside food.
2 months and older - A diet comprising about 3 ounces of water on a daily basis could help the baby. About 2 ounces of grape juice or apple juice can also be given.
4 months and older - Infants of this age, normally have solid foods in their diet. So if such infants suffer from constipation, a high fiber diet composed of foods such as spinach, peas, beans, peaches could be given.
5-10 months old - For an infant of this age, you could feed properly pureed foods. But make sure that there are no lumps in that food.
1 year old infant - A baby this old, can be fed mashed food. It is fine if there are some lumps in the food.
In the meatime try warm baths..stomach massages..

No, a 1 1/2 month old baby's stomach cannot process juice. I would add more water to the formula than suggested..or give a small amount of water in a bottle. Just make sure not to give too much water as baby will fill up on water and miss the nutrition of the formula.

My nephew would get constipated.
We called the doctor and he told us to come in.
In the mean time he told us to get formula and mix in more water than the directions said to.
For every ounce do a half ounce more.

No, infants that young should only be given breast milk or formula. Their stomach's are not developed enough to cope with anything else that early.
If it's the formula - try a different formula (with less iron perhaps) or one for 'sensitive' babies.
