How to lose 5 pounds relatively quickly?
Topic: How to lose 5 pounds relatively quickly?
November 17, 2019 / By Lenny Question:
So I'm 15, almost 5'4'' and I'm not very confident. I think if I managed to drop a few pounds I would feel better. :) I tend to carry weight only in my upper arms and in my lower tummy area. Everywhere else I'm fine with. I'm about 130 pounds. That sounds like a lot, but I do have a lot of muscle, but still...Anyway, at one point I got down to 125 pounds and I was really happy with that, but I gained it all back, mostly because I lost the weight in an unhealthy way :p which I don't wanna do again. I exercise at least 2 hours a day and I don't eat all that much or many unhealthy things. I have probably the lowest metabolism known to man :P I eat a fraction of what some of my friends eat, work out more than them, and still struggle with my weight. So, any suggestions or plans or anything? Crash dieting is outta the question because that didn't take me very far!
I'm a vegetarian by the way.

One pound of fat is made up of 3,500 calories. Therefore, to lose 5 lbs. you will have to make a caloric deficit of, and/or burn off, 17,500 calories with exercise. One strategy to lose the weight is to break up the total 17,500 into daily goals. This would entail reaching a deficit of 2,500 calories per day with some combination of dieting and exercise. You will want to consult your doctor before attempting this amount of weight loss as cutting your calories may make providing your body with enough nutrients very difficult. Exercising off a significant number of calories per day will also be challenging to your body, and you should make sure your body is able to handle exercising every day for enough time necessary to reach your calorie goal.
Determine how many calories per day you should eat to maintain your weight. Use a resting metabolic rate calculator (see the Resource section below) to get the daily number of calories from which to create a caloric deficit. Enter your height, weight in pounds, age and gender accurately.

I'm with you on this one. I've got an appointment with a model and talent agency on Thursday, so I'm working to burn off 2 lbs. Not much, but hey, it's an effort.
Working out twice a day isn't foolish -- as long as you replenish what you've lost during that exercise session. Drink Gatorade if you've been working out intensely, and plain spring water if you're doing light activities.
Count your calories, girl! Limit yourself to a maximum of 1600 calories a day, and try to burn off atleast half of that during exercise, no less. If you burn more calories than you take in, you'll lose weight because your body has to dig into fat/calorie reserves to perform the activity you want to do.
Eat all natural foods. If the ingredients in your food don't come out of the ground or were once living, don't eat it.
Also, remember: carbs aren't bad! Don't cut your carbs drastically, because they are your ultimate energy supply. Without them, you'll feel tired and sluggish, and won't have the motivation to get up and exercise.
While you're doing that, I think I'll take my own advice and try to shed these two pounds in four days. Haha good luck!
Exercising for at least two hours a day is too much for your body. You are not doing yourself a favor. One way to increase your metabolism is to eat smaller meals often during a day. Eat 5 to 6 small meals a day or every three hours to increase your metabolism. Eat more fruits and vegetables. For meat I strongly recommend you skinless and boneless chicken breasts. And give your body a rest of at least 24 hours.

Exercising is very good for you, but it will make you gain weight.
To lose weight you have to eat no carbohydrates. (less than 20g per day)
You can eat as much as you want if you just don't eat carbs. You will lose weight.

swap out brown rice or quinoa yes even the new super food which both add up to about 220 calories per cup for cauliflower or roasted peppers that are only about 30 calories per cup

That's your problem- you're exercising and not eating enough. Your body holds onto fat when it's not receiving enough nourishment. Eat the right foods, and the right amount for however active you are. And eat throughout the day so it keeps your metabolism pumping and burning calories.
