I dont know about protein shakes, but i have had good results with the weight loss pill proactol.
Some people say that they dont work, or that they are a quick fix, but i dont agree.
I lost at least 5 kilos the first week i used these pills, without exercising any more than normal.

A good diet is the best way. Some people use a modified diabetic diet similar to weight watchers. It will take a little longer but the result will be long lasting. Supliments may make you lose weight in the short term but most people gain 25% more weight back. You need to lose about 1-2 pounds a week. Any faster weight loss is dangerous and could cause other health problems.

Good for you for having a plan. Diet pills are a waste of your money as 1) they don't work, and 2) they may not be healthy for you to take. Protein shakes, especially if you make them at home, can be a valuable addition to your diet. If you own a blender, they're easy to make, cheap, and much healthier than the ones you buy. Just mix a 1/2 cup of fat-free milk, 1/2 cup fat-free yogurt, a banana, and fruit (I ususally use frozen berries) with ice and you'll have a delicious, thick, nutritious drink that takes care of most of your dairy and fruit servings each day. You can have a shake as a meal replacement or as a healthy snack. If you want to add protein, purchase a good low-fat "whey protein" powder and add a scoop to your blender. So...to sum it up, be active, make wise food choices, eat small portions, add weight loss shakes, and forget about diet pills. (If they really worked, do you think there would be ANY fat people??) Good luck!

Don't use the quick fixes, your body in response to fast loss will but weight right back on as fast, and especially because quick fixes don't promote the diet that helps maintain it.
Just stick to the good old food guide, measure the food portions to be correct, and get a good bit of exercise. It will take a long time but the weight will not magically reappear again.

Think about what you can add to your diet, not whatever you must take away. Integrate yummy veggies into your meal, rather than serving them privately. Not only will they offset the fat within your chicken or meat, but the phytochemicals in fresh produce are that can prevent diseases.

Low-carb protein shake.
Take one for brekky and lunch. Have a big healthy dinner and have fruit for snacks - you will lose weight from doing this but its hard to just have protein shakes. You can just replace one meal a day with protein shakes, that also helps. Pills dont work and are terrible.
