I have been enjoying a new healthier lifestyle for almost a year now, and I've lost a total of about 60lbs. I eat healthy, and my main way of exercising is bike riding. I can ride my bike 20-30 miles a day without even trying. It's my main mode of transportation. I'm not losing as much weight anymore as I'd like to; it's about 1-2 lbs every 2 weeks or so, and I know that's normal. But I'm so exhausted at the end of the day that I can barely crawl into bed, and I don't know what else I could be doing to lose more weight. I would like to lose another 30-40 lbs, but all my efforts seem futile when i'm exerting so much effort for such little result. Any suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated.

You didn't say what your daily calorie intake is, but I think you might be eating too few calories.
When you drastically reduce calories, you're starving away body fat. The problem is, you're also starving away lean muscle mass. As you lose lean muscle mass, your metabolism slows down and your body enters "starvation mode." Once in starvation mode, your body stores fat as it tries to conserve energy. At this point, no matter how low your calorie intake is, it's almost impossible to lose any more body fat. You will also have very little energy at this point.
Nutrition must be individualized, so it’s difficult to set an absolute single figure for everyone as a minimal calorie requirement, but the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) has suggested some guidelines. In their position stand on healthy and unhealthy weight loss programs, the ACSM recommends 1200 calories as the minimal daily calorie level for women and 1800 as the minimum for men.

I don't consider losing weight the right way as losing it on a weight loss program. If you can't buy health food use portion control with the food you do buy. You don't have to starve, you just have to know when and how to eat what you have available. Most important to losing is exercise. You didn't mention any inability to do a regular work out routine so go for walks, jogs, bike rides, take yourself and your kids swimming if entry to a park pool is not too expensive. There might be a cheap aerobic video at a retail store that can help you stay fit. Don't rule anything out. Make sure you are drinking lots of water to stay hydrated and the more you drink the less hungry you will feel so the better you can control your portions. I know this will sound stupid, but please don't hate your body. When you act positively towards it you get more positive results out of it.
Most studies show that tho exercise is great, the main avenue to weight loss is reduced caloric intake. So just because you are exercising a lot, you won't lose weight unless you also eat less. Try eliminating high calorie foods and substituting fruits for snacks and just cutting out other high calorie foods till you start losing weight again.
Everyone losing weight plateaus every few months. But don't overexert yourself till you can't move. Exercise within reason and eat less.

I suppose folks worry wasting weight for a quantity of explanations. For one - it continues a detailed quantity of folks at bay. I realize a lady who loves to be keep chubby as she feels it stops guys drawing near her.Her final dating used to be violent. This has labored for her for 8 years. Not healthful however there's a truly lifestyles instance.

I have to disagree with the people telling you to eat less calories. This is the cause of plateaus. Too little feul and too much exercise causes your metabolism to crap out

Effective weight loss that is lasting doesn't come from a pill or from restricting calories. Either one teaches your body that it's starving and your body reacts by lowering your metabolism (how fast you burn calories). To help boost your metabolism, you should work out in the morning - this will lift your metabolism for the entire day. Also, any constant exercise (cycling, walking, etc.) that lasts for more than 20 continuous mins. causes your body to start burning fat for energy. Plus, spread your normal diet out into 5 or six smaller meals each day. Every time you eat a meal your metabolism also goes up slightly.
P.S. As said by krzynurse: Eat lean protein, boneless skinless chicken, fish, nuts, oatmeal, yogurt, granola,fresh fruits and veggies, cut out alcohol, butter , high fructose corn syrup (in soda and a lot of juice drinks)eat a lot of lean meats, low fat dairy, watch the carbs, eat whole grain bread, etc....
