Topic: what are some ways to kick up five pounds of ground beef on the atkins diet?
June 20, 2019 / By Noel Question:
I'm starting the Atkins diet on May 1st, and I've done it before, and the last time I did it, I bought a five pound bag of ground beef, and froze them in individual packages, and could thaw them, and fry them up as needed, and top them with lots of cheese. Before I made the patties however, I added some stuff to the meat. I added some bacon, a couple of eggs, some onion, and a few other things, I can't remember. Does anybody have a good recipe for five pounds of hamburger? I can add mustard, but not ketchup. Thanks everyone!

I like the phase 2 of the Atkins or the phase 2 of the South Beach. SB has menus and recipes in the books!! They are great!
Ok, for ground beef: I usually just add salt and pepper, no eggs, lately no onions. Just the beef and then made into patties or mini meatloaves. The other day I used a jar of steak rub on about 5 pounds of raw ground beef. Made some of it into meat balls, some into patties, some into mini meatloaves, and browned some to be divided into stuff to be added to scrambled eggs and cheese!
I am diabetic, not overweight! So I live on the phase 2 of South Beach very happily! This has basically been my lifestyle food plan since the late 60s!

Did you know the fine restaurants store their sides of meat for forty days before they cut it up for service
Herbs, garlic, onions, worcestershire sauce, for meat loaves or meatballs.
Indian spices + herbs for koftas or kebabs.

Add fresh roasted garlic and fresh herbs (big on flavour, low on carboyhdrates); add chili powder or red chili flakes to add spice.

You know Dr. Atkins died prematurely from heart disease, right?
Eating a bunch of bacon cheeseburgers (sans bun) is NOT health food OR weight loss food. It's high-calorie cholesterol-laden colon-clogging kidney-frying junk at the quantities Dr. Atkins recommends.
Let me guess. You're going to eat five pounds of hamburger with added eggs, bacon and cheese...but you "can't" use ketchup because of the sugar, right? OMG...the stupidity of some people is amazing.
ETA: To answer your question...you might want to look at kefta recipes. Ground beef with Middle Eastern flavors is delicious.

I too cook for my dog ... he gets a variety of meats and vegetables
I use organic beef liver .... for the liver is the cleasing organ of the body
beef liver and beef kidney are organ meats
make it 1/10 of their diet
I cook it up in a very small amount of water, put it in the food processor ... grind it up and then measure out the amount in small bags and freeze it. My dog gets a small package of either kidney or beef liver in his food every day twice a day
the beef heart is a muscle meat and my dog get his normal portion of food using this. He eats 1 cup of food twice a day with ground up vegetables. He gets beef heart twice a week
I cook up the beef heart and then grind it up in the food processor and measure out his normal portion of food
