Question: I'm 14 years old and VERY small. I need to gain weight and add more protein to my diet but protein powders taste disgusting and a lot of nutrition pills are way too huge for me to swallow. Got any tips/suggestions?

I have the same problem as you. Here's what I take: Pro Nos protein (very good taste)- chocolate- after a workout or in the morning on days I dont work out Women's Maximum Nutrition multivitamin powder- chocolate- I mix it in the protein You can find both at GNC.

Chicken is probably one of THE most versatile meats there is... which means there are countless ways to cook it, and many that are low in fat. How about putting the chicken breasts (2 is best - and just about right for your standard sized jar of salsa) in a small baking dish, baking at 350 deg., with peppers, onions, zucchini (sliced and cut in halves or quarters), and pour over some salsa. Short, sweet (or as spicy as you like depending on your salsa) and simple. About 5 mins. before it's done, sprinkle on some grated cheese. The one I get at the markets here is a nice blend of cheeses with a Mexican flare. It even comes in a reduced fat version which, believe it or not, is quite good. I'd say to bake that for about 45 mins. Spoon over the juices a few times during baking.

We use olive oil and a little cornmeal (it's kind of a shake and bake, sorry). I sprinkle with basil and paprika, bake on low, and squirt lemon juice immediately upon removal from oven. (Add olive oil - extra virgin - and water as needed while baking and keep coveredl). The trick for tenderness is using enough olive oil and water, added periodically while keeping covered and cooking on low i.e., 350 degrees. I usually cook brown rice with desired seasoning - low sodium - with it. A great veggie to accompany is asparagus spears, stove simmered with olive oil and fresh squeezed lemon also. It's a great meal. Not complicated either. You can grill outdoors in much the same way by using aluminum foil coated with olive oil also. Don't know if this creative or not, but turns out tender and tasty. EDIT: Forgot, this is with boneless skinless chicken breasts. Re: the poster who boils, not sure. I only boil chicken when I am making a chicken soup or chicken ala king.

Eat your spinach raw and lots of lean meats can also help. I will say though if you add frozen banana's and blueberries to your protein powder it tastes much better ;)

HI WELL I SUGGEST TYSON 100% ORGANIC CHICKEN ITS VERY GOOD BUT ALSO GOOD ON PROTEIN. I USED IT ON MY NEICE SHE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. SHE GAINED WEIGHT BY HER NEXT DOCTORS APPT. THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO PREPARE IT. GRILL, BAKE, SAUTE' AND SERVE ON A SALAD BUT EAT THAT AND YOU WILL BE FINE.

Nutrition is...nutrients absorbed by the body from the various different food that we eat. Great source of protien is EGG whites. The yoke has fat and has higher levels of cholestorol, but egg whites with wheat bread toast, for breakfast, is the breakfast of champions. Another really good source of protien is fish, grilled or simmered in oil (light), is really good, but at the same time you need greens in your diet too. Keep a balanced diet.
