I am 43 years old and i have been constipated very much over the last 3 months and i don't know how to make me better! I am so embarrassed to tell my husband or go to the doctor because they are both of the opposite gender and it would be VERY uncomfortable! I have been able to get some out with over the counter laxatives but in small portions and that's not healthy. Also i have been gaining weight because of the stored up human waste. I have looked online but have found nothing that works and i really need your help! Please send your ideas and nothing unreasonable, Thank you for your generous time!

constipation is a result of numerous factors... not drinking enough water, not eating enough fiber and not getting adequate exercise. To get things moving again, get some stool softeners from the drug store, drink at least two liters of water everyday and eat more high fiber foods, and make it a practise to get out and walk for an hour a day. Doing this will get you moving and keep you regular.

I suspect you used a disposable saline enema. They only clear the rectum and cause irritation from the high level of saline. I would use a 1 to 2 quart warm water enema and repeat if necessary unless nothing returns in which case I would get to an ER. Either a combination hot water bottle/douche/enema syringe or a Fountain douche/enema syringe is available at most pharmacies including Walmart.
Try eating more fiber. Fiber helps to get things moving down there. But if you have been constipated for such a long period you may be impacted, or so heavily backed up, that you may need to take more invasive actions, like an enima.
I am sure your doctor has helped constipated patients before. Go to see him. If you delay it much longer you may end up with long-term complications or ignoring a serious problem.

Seriously! Go to a doctor! Constipation in and of itself is not the issue, but it's damaging to your organs. After all, feces tend to rot after the third day in your rectum or colon, and that can lead to colon cancer. Drink LOTS of water every day, and get some real medication. Even if it's embarrassing, it's still your body and you need to take care of it. Besides, a doctor will never judge you for what diseases or problems you have. I'm sure that he's seen cases of these every day that yours will be just another of the blur. After all, constipation is very common.

It sounds like an inbalance. If your hair and nails are thinning it could be a iodine deficiency. Also can cause lack of sleep and dry skin and cold hands and feet and high blood pressure. among so many other things.
I used liquid kelp I bought from herb store. I also use sonnes # 7 its bentonite clay. It says to use one tablespoon in the morning when you wake and one tablespoon at night before sleep on empty stomach.
I use it in the morning and about an hour later I take two teaspoons of psysillium husk powder. Unflavored no aspartame.
The clay will keep you regular and also will detox your body in the process.
The liquid kelp will replace the iodine missing in your body. Try a good mulitvitamin also like hair skin and nails from walmart. Vitamin imbalances cause so many problems.
Baking soda and epsom salts will clean you out and fast.
I use one teaspoon per fifty pounds I am of the baking soda in 4 oz of water half in the morning half at night on empty stomach. The epsom salts you will have to read the lable on the back. That is awesome at getting your body to clear everything out and fast. when you take it it acts fast so stay near bathroom.
The epsom salts also detox the body.
I use epsom salts and baking soda and the clay the powdered clay in a bath to soak to detox the body. its awesome. I can now feel my skin again.

You could change your eating habits. For me certain food tend to stay in my system longer then other types, also when I drink large quantities of coffee, (usually a one pot or two) I tend to poop out liquid crap. Other things that will clear my system out is chips with med.- hot salsa, beer, soup, etc. Hope this helps

pepto is not to relieve constipatation. You need to eat more fiber to relieve it. Any fruit or veggie will help. The higher the fiber, the more it will help your stools become softer.
