Question: Although I asked this question in the past, the responses have always been varied. I have flabby male boobs, my female friend who is a lesbian inspected them for me and they are just under an A-cup size. Thing is I'm very skinny everywhere else, and so have long thought it to be gynemastia. I've seen the doctor about it two times, both times he has said it's just fat and that I can burn it off. I've tried this, but it's not working, I'm developing pecs but it's simply pushing the fat forward the more I build the muscle underneath. I've been told that if I want to lose fat deposits that I should be focusing more on cardio and less on building muscle. What are the reasons behind this, and is it legitimate? Will riding for say an hour each day eventually rid my chest of slight manboobs? @Homebody Man - I'm thinking that it is genetic, although they only appeared as I started puberty however have never gone away. I'm in no way girly; I've got an average-toned body and eat very healthily. I find that even doing 20 push ups a day improves the size of my arms and chest dramatically over just a few days, so I don't do that too often as I don't want to be 'big' so to speak. What are the side effects of clomid, if any? I'll give it a shot. @Ricky W - that is true, I found that doing many push ups and some bench pressing was successful in building muscle on my chest, however only made the fat deposits far more apparent. How long do you think it would take to get rid of them if I used a treadmill?

You'll want to spend 1/2 your time on cardio to reduce fat, and 1/2 of toning muscle by doing chest exercises like military press and pushups. Cardio along with a reduced fat & carb, and high protein diet, will work well. When walking on a treadmill, try using small weights in your hands and move your arms as you walk, as this will combine cardio with arm and chest toning. If you are looking for a dvd type training program, consider the P90 system as it works. The program is difficult at times but worth it. When doing chest exercises you'll want to do a high number of reps at a smaller weight, rather than really heavy weight with just a few reps, to tone your pecs. Doing too much weight will cause bulk and make the problem worse. Best of luck to you!

Try asking your doctor for clomid, an anti-estrogen medicine. It reduces your breast size. But you're doctor is right: lose the weight. Your problem seems to be genetic. Does your dad or uncle have the same thing? Not to sound funny, but are you a little girly? I don't mean it in a harsh way, what I mean is, you may have more estrogen than a normal guy, or you may have more sensitive estrogen receptors in your breasts. I have a thick chest myself (from a sideview in the mirror). I have a little bit of manboobs, but it's more fat that I have on my chest, in my armpits and the side of my ribs. My dad had a short thorax like I do, but no manboobs. I have been on clomid for about two months, and it hasn't worked for me. I do have to lose fat weight on my upper body though. One more thing: if you have a big head like me, that could be the reason why you have a fatty chest. I'm just saying.

Muscle building would just make muscle underneath the fat, making you just look fatter. It really annoys me when i see fat people doing weights at the gym, because its completely pointless. But going on a bike ride for an hour a day should help, but you should use the tread-mill aswell.

i used to have the same problem until i started weight lifting what you should do is some upper body work outs push ups work very well for the chest and will broaden it out also cardio is very good so run or ride a bike or something thats what worked for me

A lot of women have similar issues. I take Vitamin E and Evening Primrose Oil to prevent problems. Swelling, tenderness, and even a hard painful tissue where my underwire lies are my symptoms, usually mid cycle between periods. Went to a doctor one month when it was really bad, he told me to take the vitamins above, and switch to a soft cup bra when I hurt, and to wear a bra at night while I experience pain. He called my problem "fibrocystic breast condition" and said it was very common and not serious at all, just very uncomfortable.
