Cardio Exercise on a Low Carb Diet?
Topic: Cardio Exercise on a Low Carb Diet?
December 9, 2019 / By Gaye Question:
recently i've gone back on a low carb diet and its doing wonders for me. i'm no longer hungry/sleepy/cranky all the time and i have tons of energy.
unfortunately it has caused my cardio performance to suffer. i used to be able to run for well over an hour without rest, but now im lucky if i can make it 30 mins before i run out of steam. my strength training endurance hasnt changed, its just anything that requires a raised heart rate that i'm having issues with.
has this happened to anyone else? And how did you adjust your cardio regimen?

yes the same happened here with me, i gave myself a cheat day once a week and it boosts up your metabolism, helps lose weight, and gives you a spark of energy. your body probably is just adjusting to only low carbs. be careful with the low carb diet cause some things will cause you to bloat, make sure to eat enough yogurt to balance it

Big difference between simple & complex carbs. Complex carbohydrates (also referred to as starch) are made up of many sugar units and are found in both natural (brown rice) and refined (white rice) form. They are structurally more complex and take longer to be broken down and digested, which allows you to feel full longer and gives you lasting energy. Complex carbohydrate foods have been shown to enter the blood stream gradually and trigger only a moderate rise in insulin levels, which stabilizes appetite and results in fewer carbohydrates that are stored as fat.

Being on a low carb diet and being a runner is one of the stupidest things you can do. Runners NEED carbs in order to preform the right way. Low carb diets are a bull-sh*t fad. Eating health carbs (whole wheats, whole grains) and you'll be back to your hour running in no time.

Use light iron weights like dumb bells to lose fat and tone your muscles in the arm. Also a varied dumbbell routine will help burn more fat all over the body. Good nutrition and cardio exercise like running at a moderately fast pace will burn more fat. Do not over train your ab muscles. They are a muscle group like any other and have to be treated as such.
