Taking laxatives to lose weight is an unwise idea, not to mention dangerous. It will dehydrate your body, so that any weightloss would be mostly water. Laxatives will not stop the absorption of calories either. Try a sensible and safe diet of approximately 1200-1500 calories per day along with exercise.

Taking laxatives on a regular basis will cause you to become severely constipated when you stop taking them. They don't "make you skinnier" but they cause physical dependence so that you won't be able to "go" without them.
make sure you check food labels and avoid anything with more than 4 grams of sugar especially high fructose corn syrup per serving

it may, but it might have a terrible side effect... So, better don't abuse laxative, just take them if you really really need it...

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

no, it will not help you lose "real weight"
Laxatives just rid your body of what is in your system fast. It is very unhealthy and can lead to laxative abuse, which is VERY bad for you and can even kill you. It throws your electrolytes out of balance. DO NOT use laxatives to try to lose weight. they dont work and it is VERY dangerous.

As a nutritionist, I suggest you stop taking laxatives overall and let your body find it's own natural balance. What you have done is effectively stopped the normal digestion process to the point where everything is now no longer being digested at the same rate, but instead being quickly filtered through your system. You want to be careful to stay hydrated with water. Taking an OTC remedy such as Immodium may only counteract the problem and then cause problems later. Your best bet is to try and sleep and have a normal breakfast with food that will bulk up your digestion process such as bananas or fiber rich whole grains. Real constipation is defined as 3+ days of no deification, and if that happens call your Dr, don't just take laxatives as a solution. It could be the result of medications, dehydration, lack of food to create a bowel movement or stress.
