I know it's stupid to expect major differences in the period directly after exercising, but I've been doing P90X and some serious calorie cutting. In the first week I was really motivated and felt really strong, but when I stepped on the scale after that ball-busting first week, I was expecting to have lost at least 1 pound. Instead, it appears that I've GAINED weight. I've never actually gained a pound in 1 week, so this is extremely discouraging. The last 3 days I've just been stuffing myself, thinking it wouldn't matter anyway, but I'm slapping myself in the face now and I'm trying to look for explanations. Why would I actually gain weight even after dieting and exercising like I've never done before. My legs were literally on the verge of giving up on me after I did plyometrics. Why did I gain weight instead of losing?

1. muscle weights more than fat, so you are probably burning fat, but the addition of muscle means that you aren't losing weight. Don't worry, you are still getting healthier and improving your image (if you're worried about that), and the weight increasing is probably a result of the increased muscle mass
2. weight doesn't always drop off immediately. when i started trying to lose weight about 3 months ago, it took 1-2 weeks for anything to happen. Then the weight started coming off

I dont think any surgery will ever beat good ol fashion excercise. Surgery is good for a ridiculously fatty fat back who let their weight get grossly out of control. But excercise is the bodies medicine regardless if your tired from it.
Also after you have surgery, you would have to diet and eat good anyway to keep the results grade A. Can a person have stomache surgery and still stuff their belly? Yes, but you'll still be in danger of ripping your new tummy open. You'll get fat only at a slower rate depending on what you eat.
The body is an engine, not a mr. Potatoe head. It needs driven and filled with good motor oil to be at its best.
Be patient!! Everyones body weight is constantly fluctuating. You might have had a drink before stepping on the scales, may have been a bit bloated, your body might have been adjusting to its new diet! Stick with it, keep motivated and think of the outcome. For some it can take 2-3 weeks before seeing any major results. Make sure too keep your diet going, dont eat too many carbs or fats. Its very easy to stuff your face from hunger from working out too! Just stay motivated! :-)

Lol dont feel bad muscle weighs more than fat! After doing a hard workout your body sends water among many other things to your muscles to replenish and rebuild them. So as of right now its probably water weight, which is a good thing! The more muscle your body has the better it will burn fat. Keep at it my friend you will see the results you desire. Dont give up!

wiggle while you watch for 40 minutes fidgeters burn up to 350 more calories a day than couch potatoes

forget the dried cranberries which have added sugar and add a half cup of fresh berries to top off your salad

got nuts with nuts eating a handful of nuts will help you stay full try soaking them in water for a different texture

yes you have time to exercise. 10 mins. of exercise is enough to keep you from losing muscle while losing weight. if you did bodyweight squats really slow up and down you probably couldn't even do 20. and if you did one pulling and one pushing exercise for your upper body slowly then that would be a complete workout. loss of muscle while losing weight is the surest way of slowing down metabolism.
you can just eat less to lose weight. think smaller portions of foods(especially junk and high cal. foods) you don't have to feel full. just eat about 200cal snacks or small 300 -400cal meals every 3 hrs and you will lose weight. drink lots of water and it will curb appetite.
