Question: I'm 15, 120ish pounds and 5"10. I know I'm a lowish weight, but that's because I've been coping with an eating disorder for a few months. Recently, I've realised I dont want to do it anymore so I'm willing to stop this disorder and hopefully get really healthy again. I haven't had my period for about 5-6 months and I'm so so so worried... mostly about my health and future. I'm willing to put a bit of weight on if i need it but I don't want to gain too much. I think what I need is more fats in my diet, does anyone recommend any GOOD fat I can eat? & how to create a meal out of them? I was thinking peanut butter or something? I'm aiming to eat 1,500+ calories, do you think this is enough? I just really want it back :-(, any help is appreciated. thanks (: x

The fact that you stopped having your period is a real cause for concern. That means something is wrong. You really need to go to your doctor to have this checked out and get some professional advice, because you may be doing damage to your body and of course the uterus if you've stopped having periods. Don't be ashammed about it or think they'll judge you, trust me, they won't. They're there to help.

I'll actually answer your question... there is absolutley no connection between weight loss and your hair loss. Just unfortunate timing. COngrats on the weight loss. Focus on that rather than your hair

Being too thin will stop your periods. Your body is being starved and it reacts by conserving waste. Listen to what your body is telling you. 1500 calories is still a diet. You should be aiming for at least 2000 calories, and maybe a bit more to put back on some of that weight and persuade your body that you are not starving to death. Eating a lot of fat gives calories, true, but it also clogs up your arteries and can cause other problems. You need to go to a doctor and talk about your unhealthy attitude to being thin. It's obviously unhealthy because you are experiencing bad results to your health.You can get a recommended balanced diet from the doctor which will be much healthier than piling on saturated fat A n eating disorder is a serious thing. Please take it seriously and listen to your doctor. It seems like this is a really good time for you to take action as you have the motivation of getting your reproductive system working again. You need to goto a doctor. You m ake your eating disorder to sound like something you chose to have. YOu can't just switch it off. Go see a doctor so you can goto a rehab clinic and get the proper help you need.
