The cabbage soup diet is that you eat nothing but the cabbage soup for one week. The upside, if there is one, you can eat as much of the soup as you like. The links below describe the diet. The recipe has been floating around the internet for at least 10 years. Supposedly the diet originated from a hospital, Sacred Heart (which is non-existent), and someone actually wrote a book using that recipe. This is the recipes I remember... Cabbage Soup Recipe Ingredients: 6 Large Green Onions 2 Green Peppers 1-2 Cans Diced Tomatoes 1 Bunch Celery 1 Package Lipton Onion Soup Mix 1-2 Cubes of Buillion (if desired) 1 head cabbage Cut vegetables into small pieces and cover with water. (V-8 juice and water can be used). Boil fast for 10 minutes. Reduce to simmer and continue cooking until vegetables are tender. Season to taste with salt, pepper,parsley, etc. EAT AS MUCH AS YOU WANT WHENEVER YOU WANT ANY TIME OF THE DAY.

cabbage diet is good. People who used it, all lost weight, but it comes with the price: it gives you awful flatulence. You will ...t and ..t and ...t. On the bright side, you will never feel hungry! And, you do get used to it, so after a while you will just have a bloated belly. Plus, it's full of vitamins. The other good diet is wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to calculate points or to buy special meals or plans.

Go online and type in "cabbage soup diet". There will be recipes for the soup as well as the special diet that goes with it. The diet does work. I lost 10 pounds in a week. It is fine to use it sparingly, like before a vacation or reunion. Good luck

The best range to lose weight in is 1 to 2.5 lbs a week. This will allow your body to accustom itself to the loss and the skin to regain its prestretched stage. Losing weight too quickly will cause the skin of abdomen, chest and inner thighs to sag, possibly dramatically. I don’t personally believe in any of the fad diets that keep showing up. I think that they put your body into an unhealthy famine mode which will cause you to gain the fat right back if you start to eat normally again. The best idea is to eliminate all junk food. You can do a cheat day if you need to but don’t go overboard. Eat balanced meals of reasonable size. Overeating will cause your stomach to be too large and you will still feel hungry when you’re not. Also have lots of healthy snacks during the day. Ideally you’ll want to eat 5 or 6 small meals throughout the day. Carry food with you so you aren’t tempted to eat unhealthily when you’re out of the house. And don’t buy unhealthy foods. Get foods that are low in bad fats—we do need fat to survive but not saturated fat. Minimize the processed flours and sugars, no white bread, no sugar. Choose leaner meats and protein sources. Don’t expect to eat pizza and burritos all the time and lose weight. And eat tons of vegetables. Eat salads, steamed vegetables and raw vegetables too. You can’t eat so much celery that you’ll get fat. Don’t eat too much fruit or things containing high fructose corn syrup. The reason is that fructose is hard on the liver because it can only be metabolized there. You can eat fruit during or after a workout. Don’t eat late at night because your body will turn it into fat. Eat a smaller amount of calories than needed to maintain your weight. You have burn more than you intake. Always exercise. Cardio especially, but weights are good too. Don’t give up. You’ll be glad you chose to lose the weight.

I tried this diet years ago, but couldn't stay on it more than a few days...too boring. The soup starts tasting awful when it's the only thing you're allowed.

The cabbage soup diet does work to lose weight, fast. I went on that exact same one, following it religiously. The doctor recommended warning about not doing it for more than a week or two is very crucial. Although this diet does help you lose weight, you must be trying to change your whole diet in the process to become more healthy. If not, then you will just gain back all the weight you lost. I went on phentermine ( a prescription from my doctor) to help me lose weight. I lost 35 pounds and by the end of it i had about 5 pounds i really wanted to lose. Nutritionists will always avoid recommending the use of these types of diet, but if you are actively changing your way of thinking about food, the cabbage food diet does help to shed pounds. I went on the diet for two weeks and lost 8 pounds and since i had already changed my way of life for 6 months before i kept the weight off. The only problem i found was that i had a really upset stomach (diarrhea) and i felt bloated in the beginning. But by the end, i felt really really healthy and high in energy from all the veggies and it helped to regulate my body. I would really recommend going on the cabbage soup diet if you are willing to stay dedicated to keeping off the weight. If you arent serious about it, you could end up struggling through the hard week of the diet only to gain it all back a week later. Oh and one more thing, while you're on the diet, don't work out too hard or you will be starving and feeling really sick. Just take it easy and it works. Oh and to answer your question about the tomatoes, the reason it tells you to eat those six tomatoes is because of the fiber from them and the acid combined with the meat is a really good cleanser. You should really try and eat the whole tomato instead of the juice because it will really mess up your system not getting whole foods. Another thing i liked to do with the soup is add a little more veggies to it and a little vinagrette. It was so good!
