Question: My name is Victoria. I'm fifteen years old. 5ft 7in. I'm weigh 190 and I want to lose weight before my 16th Birthday. It's my new years resolution. I'm not asking for a EASY plan but a more QUICKER plan. I like challenges and I'm going to lose weight anyway I can ( except abusing my body with unnesessary drugs or " tricks " ) . I eat way healthier than I use to , drink lots of water , workout for ATLEAST a hour a day at a local gym. I just want other tips that helped others to lose weight or someones opinion on what I should do ; by the way , my birthday is in 8 months and I want to lose atleast 45pounds. PLEASE HELP. I'll appreciate all of yall's guidelines. Once It becomes warmer I will do a lot more swimming && Running Laps. Just too cold to be in water at this time... thank you !

The best way to increase your body's metabolism and lose weight is to swim (if your gym or backyard have it). However, you will drain your energy quickly hopefully you have the endurance for it.

Okay listen. Having a 'set' food diet sucks. So don't program in your head and have to keep track and torture yourself with foods around you by just eating that. You can eat a wide variety of foods but just eat them in small portions and make sure not to eat junk food. so just keep a wide variety of foods such as FRUITS, VEGETABLES, WHITE MEATS [eggs, fish, chicken], BEANS and POTATOES and such, all natural, healthy foods. Think of it this way, "the food with the least ingredients in it is usually the healthiest for you!!!!" A very important rule. [[PS food tips: green tea boosts metabolism, use honey with tea instead of sugar.. ACAI berry juice is a huge antioxidant and weight loss helper]]. As for the exercising, do not eat within 2 hours of exercising before or after. In order to lose fat you already have do AT LEAST 30 minutes of cardio a day, maybe twice a day. Cardio may fall under the categories or fast paced workouts such as POWER WALKING, SWIMMING, RUNNING, BIKING and such. Cardio takes off pounds from all over your body. Once you have a limited amount of body FAT thats when you can start shaping up muscles. So once you think you are nice and fit, for exercising, still do your 30 minutes of cardio FIRST before your workout workout, and then do exercising pertaining to specific parts of your body. You can NOT target weight LOSS to any part of your body, it takes it from all over needed places. But you CAN tone up muscles in specific parts of your body. Example, doing sit-ups with a 'fat' stomach will only push the bulge out more because you are toning the muscles 'underneath' and need to get rid of the stomach fat in order for your muscles to show. So this is the time you do that, so sit-ups for the stomach, look up "oblique workouts" online to get the sides of your stomach in order for it to look sculpted. Do butt and thigh workouts and some arm workouts.. just make sure you get all over your body toned up. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any diet will work as long as you stick to it! It's the going back to your old eating habits that make you gain the weight back! It sounds like you've figured that out & have good nutritional goals for yourself! You've got to change your desire eating & eat only when hungry & not eat past full! Any other reason to eat is not healthy! (bored, upset, habit, social event) I use the website www.startyourdiet.com, it's motivational, has all the tools I need,; graphs, charts, food diary, goal setter, motivational info (daily or you can read it al @ once- this would be the "book" you are asking about- it's online) & a blog & memo board where hundreds of us dieters share tips, motivation & encouragement. best of all it's free! To use ALL the tools it is $29.00 a year (i think).. soooo affordable. But you can be successful with the free tools! You put in your stats & it tells you how many calories to consume & how much exercise you need. the exercise you should do should be aerobic- it's the only kind that burns fat. you can coose your own exercise- what you like to do. I try to do a step aerobic video 4- 5 times a week. when it was cooler i wallked for an hour 5-6 days per week (tried to). The food is based on how many calories it suggests based on the info you put in (height, weight, body type) & you are free to use any eating plan. if you use the exchange plan (food pyramid) it will tell you how much protien, fruit, veggies- etc. (protien doesn't have to be meat :) this is the most well balanced way to eat- but like i said- you've gotta do what will work for you. I have lost 35 pounds since May- slow and steady- but i loose more the more i exercise. i'm a mom of 3- so i don't always do enough aerobic- but a little is better than none in my book!
