Good weight loss goal?!? Topic: Good weight loss goal?!?

Question: Is losing about 4 pounds a week a good goal? I know they say no more than 2 but im 18, and play football. I'm gonna start eating as perfect as possible, (for a teen lol) and working out hard. Plus any extra tips on losing weight? Thanks and much appreciated

Losing 10 lbs a month is a good and safe target. Any faster weight loss is likely to be temporary only and in most cases you regain it all. Running, jogging, cycling, swimming, dancing, push ups, sit ups, squats, brisk walking and power walking all help for weight loss but dieting helps more. You can always eat negative calorie foods for weight loss and below is a list of negative calorie foods that will boost your metabolism. Negative Calorie Fruits: apples cranberries grapefruit lemons mangoes oranges pineapple raspberries strawberries tangerines Negative Calorie Vegetables: asparagus beets broccoli cabbage (green) carrots cauliflower celery Chile peppers (hot) cucumber dandelions endives garden cress garlic green beans lettuce onions papaya radishes spinach turnips These foods don't actually have negative calories but when you eat these foods raw or slightly cooked your body burns more calories digesting and processing them than what is in the food itself. hun... first you must focus on cardio before you work on toning. try to get down to at least 130lbs then you can focus on toning. since your a female you can't be big like some guys can and still be toned. Try running/jogging everyday for 30-40 mins. If you wanna tone your arms start off with 20-25lbs weights. Do at least 25 on each arm..then to work your triceps lay flat on the ground, put your arms to your side (keep them at your sides), lift up your forearm and push up toward the sky,do about 20 reps of 5. <<< do this with 10- 15 lbs weights. do squats with 5-10lbs weights 50 times. *ALSO* what I do to increase my flexability to do various types of exercises is Yoga. if you have a seperate room keep small useful exercise equipment use those equipment while reading and listening songs

Supersets are really the new technology of fitness. It's a series of 5-6 sets that make up a superset. Here's a great example: http://exercise.about.com/cs/exercisewor... For weight loss use less weight and more repetitions -- like lower weight and 10-15 reps. Then add a minute or two of cardio between the sets. Be sure to do at least a 5 minute cardio warmup on a bike or something and then stretch at the end.
