It depends on the rules your state has. Food stamps are a federal program that is administrated through your state. They follow basic guidelines but the following are standard: Health food stores "may" take them if they are an approved retailer. You may buy only food items - however that definition includes such idiotic items as chewing gum, candy, mints, ice cream, etc. You may not buy non-food items. No soap, no health items. You may buy a few items located in a supermarket deli but most hot items are not permitted and in most cases a deli pop is not allowed - it is best to check with the store since some stores allow things that others don't due to poor guidelines from the USDA. You may buy steak, shrimp, lobster, crab or any other food item that many taxpayers cannot possible afford.

First of all you don't have to "smuggle" in snacks. You can bring in things such as bottled water and small snacks with no problem. They do not allow coolers, glass, or any sharp objects. We will usually bring a small backpack with some small snacks and have no problem. As for food these here are some more specific costs Drinks: $2.75-$3.00. A burger is decent size and will be between $7-$9. Other food items can run anywhere from about $5-$15 depending on what it is. Other snacks will run between about $3 and $6. This is for your Counter Service locations. If you are looking at a Table Service Resturant it depends on the location. But you can expect about $15-$25 per person for Lunch, and $20-$50 per person for Dinner.

A good rule of thumb is to expect to pay roughly twice what you might outside the park so a $5 Happy Meal would run $10 (think of what you might pay at an airport and you'll get an idea). Sit-down restaurants, such as the Blue Bayou, will be more expensive still... expect about $75 for a meal for two people. It depends who is on bag search as to what you might be able to bring into the park with you. But I should think that snack bars or veggie sticks should make it through. If security questions it, you could always claim a food allergy or special dietary needs.

NO health food stores do not accept them. Some circle k gas stations do for their food items inside. You can buy any type of food except the hot food from like the deli if the store has one and also you cannot buy pet food. Other than that you can use them for any other type of food

sounds brilliant. oh, by the way, what do you plan to do about the resulting black market in junk food? how about people in the inner city whose only places to shop are the 7-11's of the world? not to mention, if you yourself had a sudden mad craving for potato chips, how would you like it if some food-nazi was standing there telling you "no, you can't have that"? look, my family uses food stamps. i buy a lot of good fresh foods, fruit, veggies, meat, whole grains... do you have any idea how expensive that is? a bag of potato chips are a lot cheaper in many areas than a bag of potatoes is. you also need to consider that there are a fair number of people on food stamps who don't have a working stove or oven, or even a roof over their heads. how do you plan to feed them? are they no longer to be allowed to eat because the things they can actually make/eat aren't on your approved list? if you only had a hot plate or a microwave, or not even that, how would you do it? it's really not a bad idea that you have here, there are just far too many variables for it to be properly implemented. and besides, doesn't government have enough control over our lives already? why must we be continually punished for the apparently appalling crime of being poor?

The pet nutrition industry is a multi-billion dollar industry full of hype and false claims. Consumers are being duped into believing that they are feeding their pets healthy foods, when in actuality they are feeding nothing more than inferior meat meals, cheap grains (including corn and soy), fillers, by-products, pesticides, preservatives and toxins. Never before has the pet-food industry been rocked by widespread contamination and rampant recalls. In all, more than 5,600 products by dozens of pet food makers have been recalled, from chain supermarket brands to prescription-only foods. This is a staggering number of products, and is unprecedented in this business. Thousands of deaths are due to the contamination, and many thousands more have suffered illnesses. We shudder to think of the long-term impacts of the compromised liver and kidney function and how this will affect thousands of companion animals in America.
