My husband and I are planning on checking out the Power and Light District for the first time. I looked at the Gordon Biersch menu on-line and it looked really good. Has anyone been here, and would you recommend it? What other places would be recommended? Any info would be appreciated. I would love to hear everyone's opinions. Thanks.

I haven't been to Biersch but I have heard good things. If you would be open to something a little less expensive and less formal, I highly recommend ChefBurger.
They have gourmet burgers and spiked milkshakes that are to die for! They come in un-spiked too if that's more your speed.
And it might sound silly but Lucky Strike Lanes has great food too.
It's not only a bowling alley, but a lounge, bar and restaurant and I have found it to be very entertaining and really quite classy.
I have also heard Tengo Sed Cantina has delicious Latin food, but that the waits are very long unless you get there super early.

Herford House is probably the best choice, there really isnt much restraunts to choose from but there are a lot of bars, also im not sure if this place is open or not but we when in it when it wasnt opened and im not sure what the name of the place is but i know you can ride a bull inside and the place is reallly cool, its on the top deck by the elevator in the main power and light district is, where the tv is

Boston is exactly the one you want
Boston has a lot of what you want and the suburbs have a lot of good schools to raise a family
expect low crime, good schools, educated populace, liberal, 4 seasons, lots to do, and yes has a lot of young people due to all the colleges and universities there
there are ghettoes, but also lots of nice neighborhoods too
avoid Dorchester Mattapan and Roxbury (but West Roxbury is ok)
Seattle or Portland would be great runners up
