None of those you mentioned I recommend and don't believe on those infomercial cortisol stuff.
First do you have any medical condition such as high blood pressure, thyroid problems, etc? Taking any medications? Consult your physician first.
How overweight are you?
Healthy fat loss not more than 1-2 lbs bodyfat/week. First one you gain is the last one you're going to lose. It's genetic (some are blessed with proportioned body like those fitness magazine models). You can tone the muscle to get it a little bit firm. Those fitness mags testimonials stuff (whatever you call it) some are incompetition or they have really strict diet to apper in those mags that's why "micro fine print" say results vary per individual.
Muscle weighs more than fat so don't get discourage when you step on a scale. As long as you're burning more cal than you eat. 1 lb of fat is 2500 cal. So you need 2500 caloric deficit to lose 1 lb of body fat in a week. DONT STARVE YOURSELF. eat 4-5 small meals a day every 3 hours.
I use 7 keto base thermogenics (started with Isatori's lean system7 -- good product it has only minimal appetite suppressant and switch to Instone's leanfire because product is out of stock). Leanfire has more appetite suppressant. Others that were originally built aound ephedra have bad effects due to very high caffeine content (I read).
You workout 6 days/wk alternating weight training and cardio 7th day is rest and cheat day. You can checkout bodyforlife.com they have animated training, too and you can follow their training. I follow some of them especially the weights and just add some 1-3 of my stuff. My cardio is combination of sprinting and interval jogging for 50 mins.
You need to feed your muscle so you need 1 g of protein per pound of bodyweight. Grilled chicken no skin, soy, eggwhites/eggbeaters, etc are lean protein. You can also use those protein powder (I use optimum nutrition -- cheap, taste good and has 24g protein perscoop). You need to high protein, ave complex carbs (low sugar), low fat (not fat free -- they have a lot of sugar). Avoid fast food and fried foods. You have to eliminate those junk foods like chips. You need protein to feed the muscle. Eat healthy more vegestables, fruits.
Going low carb is proven to encourage weight loss. Limit the carbs (especially polished carbs like muffins and bagels) and include a little fat.
